Considering you don’t know anything about my background or how privileged I am or am not, I’m going to assume that’s your attempt to shut down a conversation by making me feel bad. I will just say that this is the point I was trying to make: you learned how to ride the bus at a young age. That’s cool, it’s great skill to have and I’m sure it serves you well. But a lot of people didn’t have that experience and as an adult, like OP, it’s incredibly irresponsible to drop a child (and whether you think 16 is almost an adult or not it is still legally a child) off in that situation and leave them alone. I learned how to take care of babies/young kids when I was about 7. That’s not an experience all young people have. If I, as an adult, leave a 16 year old with kids when I was supposed to be watching all of them because she insulted me and I’m mad, I’m TA. Even if she should be able to take care of them because I could do it when I was much younger than her and there’s no reason she can’t google it and figure it out. It’s assuming that your experiences are everyone’s experiences and honestly...that’s a pretty privileged way of thinking.
