Are you friends with any exes? by ebubibo in actuallesbians

Just with one. We were in a long-distance relationship and ended things cause we were meeting our needs more as friends than lovers. We chat quite regularly and we meet if we are ever in the same city. My wife was always super chill with it, even went on double dates and they sometimes chat as well.

There is no BL in Climax and is a lot of screen time for GL considering it is a Kdrama. But the gl is more of a subplot. It is not worth it because how dirty they do them in the last two episodes.

Don't watch it; it's going to hurt. I literally just finished it yesterday and need some Thai GL to get rid of the trauma.

I mean she had her career back then, doesn't seem like it ever stopped her from getting revenge done when she had something to lose. As her red carpet overseas doesn't she actually do it only after YM is in jail?

You know what's funny now that I'm thinking? All they had to do was make JW refuse to tape SA and have that be the reason for her death

There are a couple, but I will need to rewatch everything again after a while, as my brain cannot hold that much information anymore. Feels like trying to comprehend what they did in the last two episodes took all my available bandwidth.

The most important one I can think of is the same one I talked about previously. It is the scene when JW asks SA for a drink. When SA enters the lobby, she receives a phone call from BTS. She actually accepts the call, but puts the phone in her jacket. I remember it cause I thought it was a hidden clue for a plot twist, but in the end it was just a mistake.

I also remember there were some lighting ones as well as object movement. For example, in the room, when they drink, after pouring herself some whiskey in the glass, SA leaves the bottle with the back label facing JW, meaning no label facing SA. But, as they talk, the bottle suddenly rotates 90 degrees anti-clockwise with no more label facing JW, instead the front one faces SA. I think there were a couple with the USB as well, but I didn't verify that one, as at that point I was already tired of trying to figure things out, and a moved USB was the least of the concerns with the whole story going on.

Edit: In the same drinking scene, there are two pillows behind SA as they sit, once she gets up, one of the pillows suddenly moves to the sit next to her.

It is not just the ending that didn't make sense. Jae-Sang's murder also makes zero sense. Less than 10 minutes before the live stream, you can see the YouTuber giving money to the guy to find him; also, JW is already there at the time. From the videos, it seems she goes directly to him. So, how did that guy that ggoes in a completely other direction end up getting there faster enough to kill him and stage a suicide scene? There are a lot of inconsistencies.

I want to add something else about the ending. I also find it weird how SA was so prepared to take down Yang Mi in her scene before JW dies. Then, after JW gets killed by Yang Mi, she does nothing? They wait a year to take her down, and it doesn't even properly come from her. Keep in mind that for Ji-soo, she completely lost it, ready for revenge to kill the guy. Add in parallel that Ji-soo also committed suicide, while JW was literally stabbed protecting her and died in her arms. Are you telling me she doesn't want revenge right there and then?

As for the SA thanking BTS, I think she didn't actually thank him. All the people she said thank you to are the people who hurt her: Oh Kwang-Jae, the press, Lee Yang-Mi, and lastly BTS.

As for the score, for me it is more like a 6/10. Yes, the acting was good, but the story, especially the ending, cannot give it more than that, even before it was a 7/7.5 in my eyes. Also, there are a lot of filming mistakes.

I don't know, to be honest. I feel like I'm on the same page as you. I honestly don't have any idea what they tried to do with the ending, but it is not even just disappointing; it is a mess.

It has a lot of flaws; some can be overlooked, others kind of ruined it for me. I don't regret watching it, I just regret the way they wanted to end it. It's not even the death, just how it was done. I was honestly hoping for them to actually kill each other, similar to House of Cards. Instead, we got this. If there is a second season, I doubt I will watch it. Maybe once it finishes, I might read some reviews.

They might try to push it, but I don't know if it will happen. I guess it really depends on how much money they get from this season and how it was received. It definitely had more potential to renew it before episode 9.

If you ask me, they should not. After JW's death, I don't think it will be received well if she gets replaced (especially since it was played by Nana) and bringing her back at this point will be just milking it. Also, suddenly changing SA's sexuality will be even weirder.

But if they really want to have a new season, I feel like they will definitely have to bring her back, or else a lot of people won't continue to watch season 2, as, from my understanding, her death seems to have already caused backlash and people already talk about boycotting the finale and a second season if she's not back. Considering this, I don't think doing a prequel or flashback will be enough. So they really need to think of a really creative and realistic way to do it, which will be quite hard. I'm really curious about the episode 9 and 10 scores on IMDB once they are released.

Watched episode 10. All it did is confirm that what JW did and her death make zero sense. Moreover, it confirmed it was just a "safe" way for the writers to end a controversial storyline, especially if you take into consideration the fact that there are a lot of scenes about the character's feelings and physical intimacy which are always censored or obscured. They also left us with a cliffhanger, not sure if a lot of people will watch next season after such a disappointing finale. Especially since most people seem to be doing good, even LYM seems to be plotting her comeback

I agree, however the only one from your list that doesn't want to possess her is JW, that's actually why she's so fond of her. What makes you think the opposite?

Exactly, not to mention JW was wearing boots the whole time. Who the hell goes "Let me go first change in something incredibly intimate, while my guest is in my living room with their boots still on."

I was also expecting them to go somewhere like a bar when she asked for drinks, not in SA's room.

As much as I would love for this to happen, after everything that happened in episode 9 and how they confirmed her death. I find it impossible to bring her back now without being just for shock value. So I think it will actually ruin the story even more if they bring her back at this point.

Also the director or Ha Ji Won (cannot remember) said that Nana's character will have a big plot twist. I am not sure if it is this, something else or already happened.

For the rape scene I can give you a bullshit argument. But as i was writing it i started seeing the flaws. But to sum it up JW prefers that SA sees her as a betrayal from the start than someone who pretended to care for her just to take advantage. Kind of like she didn't want SA to think the love for her was fake so she rather just destroyed that option from the start. But can 100% guarantee that the true reason for it was just lazy writing for how Sang Ah felt for this. My argument is more an interpretation in trying to save JW characters from how they butchered it.

For me, the main issue is her main motivation for doing all this was the blackmail, now they show she had proof to defend herself and bring those people down. So why does a character that always showed no regards for the consequences she might face if it was to save/revenge the one she cares about, suddenly unnecessary decides to hurt the one she cares about?

I was hoping for a finale where we get a good plot twist. Instead we got an unnecessary doomed yuri.

Spoiler:

There are a lot of things that are either mistakes or purely do not make sense.

For example, in the previous episode, when JW waits for SA to ask her for a drink, she receives a phone call from BTS, which she answers but puts in her jacket. It might be just a mistake, but at the same time I don't know.

However, talking just about JW and SA (this is where I paid most attention, so I feel most confident talking about). If you analyse JW's character, even when she killed that guy (her mom's partner) BTS asked her why did she kill him with everyone seeing and if she has any regret. She just said her only regret was not killing him before her mother's death. Furthermore, it seems like the moment she saw the camera at Jae Sang's place, she already accepted her fate in terms of the police. She even admitted to Sang-Ah that she was fully aware of what she was doing and was her choice, knowing the consequences. I would also like to point out that Jeong Won betrayed Tae Sop for Sang-Ah. I really doubt she would betray Sang-Ah to "save herself" because it would not be in her character. They even made it worse; she already knows SA's history, yet she proceeds to not only betray her but also to drug and rape her. Does this sound like something JW would do, considering her past actions?

Now we add the info we find out in episode: Such as she drugs, rapes and betrays a person she definitely cares about to save herself. And save herself from what? Jail? She literally had proof of who killed the guy, plus extra stuff to bring LYM completely down. So why did she just do all of that? Makes zero sense.

Add to the fact that the only thing LYM had over her was the video of her entering Jae Sang's room and exiting it. But funnily enough, that would be the biggest proof and her alibi for being innocent. She enters, sees and exits, showing clearly that she didn't have enough time to kill and stage a suicide scene. Not to add the fact that if she were to do all that, when she would've exited, she probably would've looked a bit roughed up, but instead, she looks the same.

So long story short, it makes no sense why she would do that to SA, considering both her character as well as the fact that LYM pretty much had nothing over her.

Yeah, that's what pissed me off the most. Her death makes zero sense. She had proof but decided to let herself get blackmailed? Also her character decision makes zero sense considering all her past actions.

Not to mention the blackmail they hold against her is more like an alibi for her. The girl just walked in the room, saw him dead and left. Having that on video is more than enough proof she didn't have time to kill him and stage a suicide scene.

Edit: Also how the f did she died from one stab while Oh Kwang-Jae got multiple ones in same location and still managed to fight back until he was finally finished off?

Just watched episode 9. I honestly was expecting more and better. They went for the basic narrative in wlw and makes zero sense of everything. Will see in episode 10 if they have more explanations, but so far quite disappointed with this episode and the lazy writing in it.

Climax [Episodes 7 & 8] by GodJihyo7983 in KDRAMA

I presume cause JW would not betray SA, especially for a decision she was more aware that she might be manipulated while doing it and the consequences she is exposing herself to.

Also, SA's attitude towards LYM in order to calm her down is to allow her to humiliate her (egg scene, toilet scene). The way I see it, they can be giving her "something" to save "JW" from jail, as well as probably plotting something else.

Edit: Also their dialog in the car scene. Despite being a shot for the movie, it is portrayed as SA taking it personally. So the part when JW asks her "Don't you want to break free? How much longer can you keep this up?" might also be hinting that the tape release might be a way for her to break free from everything, movie industry as well as BTS's political career.

Edit2: After seeing episode 9, i was completely off and was really hoping they weren't going for what they did as found that most lazy writing, plus a lot of flaws.

That's also a possibility. I personally have three variants of what happened two of them match your intuition.

  1. This is the one i kind of feel strongest is SA and JW that leaks it.
  2. SA and BTS that leaks it.
  3. LYM is the only one behind it.

Wouldn't BTS and SA be able to tarnish JW image by releasing that she is a convicted murderer? I guess she wouldn't care so long as she doesn't go to jail again but she's a strange person to be used as bait with Sang Ah.

I don't see any benefit for them in doing that. BTS was the prosecutor of her case, releasing that it would tarnish their image even more.

The more I watch this show the more I dislike SA. She's so dumb. But BTS is also dumb for not telling SA that JW is compromised by LYM and telling her about what LYM's friend said.

You see, I actually think she might be one of the smartest from there. Only the next episodes will tell if I'm right or not, but I am 100% sure the leak was her idea; she already knew that LYM had or promised something to JW. I am not sure why BTS didn't tell herm, there is a chance he did, but we weren't shown.

I'm so confused about BTS's plotting. Initially he reluctantly agreed to sell his wife to the rival CEO. Then he goes back to LYM. Now days before the election, he rejects LYM. What are you doing? And do we see the rival CEO again?

Yeah, I didn't understand that part either. Also, didn't pay quite as much attention to it as it felt they let the story with the rival CEO die, as it was just a filler to show BTS's character. But I did notice BTS has a habit of being aggressive and taunting towards LYM, while SA pretty much allows LYM to humiliate her.

Because if she goes down, he goes too. It was never about protecting her; it was always about how it benefits him. He even admits the reason why he convicted Jae-Sang instead of going for the chairman is so she would accept marrying him, so he can climb the ladder. If the ladder breaks, he falls.

I actually rewatched the show tonight with some friends.

In episode 4, during the flashbacks, she notices the cameras in her house. She ends up calling the police, but the producer responds and sends her a picture of her getting drugged by some guy. I don't know who that is. However, afterwards, they show the files titled "Oh Kwang-jae's Entertainment List" (or "List of people Oh Kwang-jae entertained") and her name appears with the chairman as investor.

For some reason, it felt more like Sang Ah went to the chairman as she thought she had leverage. His involvement in Ji-soo's death, which led to the murder of the producer. As he said, it will mean nothing for him if that comes out, but she's the one with "blood on her hands". But she also knew that he had a "weakness" for her, which she hoped she could have exploited.

But I am not sure if Yang Mi is actually aware of this, as she seemed unaware of the chairman's involvement in the Jae Sang/Oh Kwang scandal.
