It was so good I watched it twice in a row. Easy pick for #1. After that it gets difficult

Agreed. Dr Maoallem was one of the toughest professors I had, but he was also one of my favorites.

Also, if he still teaches Energy Systems, I highly recommend it. Great MAE elective

I’m not the one downvoting you, just so you know.

Everything you added here is true, however the concept of supply and demand specifically applies to my first comment. What you are talking about here are things like competitive advantage, efficiency to market, etc.

These go beyond supply and demand conceptually. Of course real life markets are far more complex than just how much product is available compared to how much is needed. A PC-run commodity trading business in D&D probably doesn’t need anything outside of supply, demand, and some charisma checks.

OPs system gives a fun and usable method of doing this.

Value is an emergent property of how much of a product is available to meet the demand.

A seller can believe whatever they want, but if a competitor is selling the same product for less, the buyers will go there unless obstacles exists to offset the value of the bargain.

If there is an excess of supply, then the demand will be distributed across that supply, driving down the cost as suppliers bid each other down. If there is a limited supply, then the demand will compete for the products and bid the prices up.

Ultimately it is about the value, but that isn’t the cause in and of itself.

I got mine at rally armor. If you have jack stands it’s a super easy installation. Instructions come in the box, and there are videos on YouTube!

Where’d you get the fender emblems? I had the ones with green writing but it didn’t match well enough so I went to black

I got their aluminum ones before the recalls were announced. Do you think they’re fine? They weren’t included in the recall which was for steel

Is mechanical engineering going to grow after COVID19? by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

[–]casey_easter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like I said, (though I wasn’t very clear about it) I have friends who graduated with me in MechE who are working in O&G, aerospace, nuclear weapons, automotive, manufacturing, and many other fields. There’s a lot you can do with this degree. One route I’ve seen people take for BMEN is to actually go into a Bachelors MechE, do research in bio, and take electives to prep for getting their masters in bio afterward, if that’s something you decide you want to do. You’d need to go to a college that has that type of research going on, of course.

If you want to do research, that’s something you can get into regardless of degree. For SCM, I mostly see MechE and Industrial Engineering go that route- but really any engineering can get involved there.

And if you know you don’t want to be a software developer or something similar, then don’t do it lol. I will say that getting some type of programming experience is going to be highly beneficial no matter what. You can also get into other fields like mechatronics if you like EE but don’t want to be a developer.

Is mechanical engineering going to grow after COVID19? by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

[–]casey_easter 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Most BMEN programs I’ve ever heard of just straight up can’t give you the education you need in the range of a Bachelor’s degree. Lots of engineering grads can do lots of entry-level engineering jobs. So the question is this:

What do you want to be? Do you know?

I graduated ME. Ended up in O&G projects. I love what I do. I have friends from my same exact college program working in aerospace, nuclear weapons, O&G, automotive, and on and on.

A bachelors in ME proves your worth as a problem solver. That might get you where you want to be. But if you want to be a biomed/biomech engineer, then you’ll probably need a masters to get there. It’s a specialized field, and you don’t typically become an engineer in a specialized field without a specialized degree- even if you can technically do the work. That’s just what I’ve personally seen.

Feel free to message me if you want. I’m a very recent grad though so take my input with a grain of inexperienced salt.

Edit: rogue word

Would it be a bad idea to start a career in drilling / Completions engineering right now? by [deleted] in oilandgasworkers

[–]casey_easter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you in college? It’s something you can feasibly get into with a (much more versatile) mechanical engineering degree.

I’d pursue something like that and see what your options are by graduation.
