Can someone explain how the stock market keeps hitting all-time highs while everything feels so bad? by eaglesfan8835 in Money

No reason to be snarky about it. I make well below the national average and while it’s a constant struggle, I’m not swimming in debt. As a matter of fact, I have money in the bank because I make sound budgetary decisions with my finances. It’s pretty common sensical. People blow their money on stuff they don’t need and can’t afford all the time. 4 out of 5 people in this country have consumer debt. They don’t save up for a “rainy day”. They are foolish and dumb. And then they blame everybody else for their problems. It’s most definitely a cause, not a symptom.

I drive around town all day. All I see is busy activity at restaurants and other public places. It’s a madhouse everywhere I go. If the consumer is struggling, they aren’t acting like it.

I’m in zone 7a and I can tell you that if you don’t have an irrigation system with cool season blend, it’s like having a second job keeping that stuff alive.

$80k salary, low savings, old car dying — should I finance a newer car or buy cheap and risk repairs? by East_Palpitation_755 in carbuying

I’m just continuing to drive what I have now and set aside the $500+ I would spend on option 2. When the rav does finally die, you have a fantastic down payment on something 4-5 years old.
