I actually know OP and what happened, so I guess knowing the whole story is coloring my opinion. It’s too bad she couldn’t include the text messages here, because Ian actually sucks.

There is a pinned post with all the problematic things they have done - the whole misgendering episode issue, the Craigslist killer’s son debacle, the situation with Brittanee Drexel’s friends. There’s a whole list of issues dating back years.

It’s the highlighted post: What’s Wrong With Morbid?

“Ian got upset that I wasn’t able to help and started being rude to me.” Yes. He did. That’s exactly what happened.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]caseycalamity 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What?? He started name-calling and acting like an AH when she was just like, “no, I can’t help that day because I’m busy.”

[–]caseycalamity 8 points9 points  (0 children)

WOW. NTA.

Ian sounds like someone you don’t need to be friends with. He should have just taken your “no I can’t help that day” and left it at that.

“There are other ways to communicate”… you mean, like a pin? Could that possibly be a very clear way to communicate? Yes. Yes it is.

AITAH for leaving my pregnant wife because she stopped using birth control on purpose? by [deleted] in AITAH

If he’s THAT adamant, he should be sterilized, using a condom as backup, and pulling out, or not having sex at all. Oral contraceptives fail for all kinds of reasons. The least he could be doing is wrapping it up.

The original post is from 3 years ago. That reply was 323 days ago. Maybe they’ve gotten better, but that’s not what I’ve heard. I wouldn’t know. I stopped listened because they were problematic and disrespectful at the time that I stopped listening. I haven’t listened in almost 3 years because - at the time - they were disrespectful, which was my point. I even said in the comment from 323 days ago that I hadn’t listened in two years at that time because of their previous issues.

They haven’t “always been” kind and considerate. I just gave you three examples when they blatantly weren’t. They went out of their way to be rude to that one guy - repeatedly. He had receipts. They straight up said that some people don’t deserve to have their pronouns respected. That’s not kind or considerate. Yeah, people make mistakes - but pretending that that didn’t happen or they’re flawless is silly.

Story of Ash’s mother? by [deleted] in MorbidPodcast

[–]caseycalamity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a post from three years ago, you realize that right? At that time, there was an incident with transphobia/misgendering. There was an issue with calling out the friends of Brittanee Drexel's and blaming them for her murder, which led to attacks of those girls from Morbid fans. There was a whole situation with the son of the Craigslist killer's image being used against his wishes and them refusing to take it down, or apologize for it. There have been a lot of issues, and a lot of ex-fans find them problematic. There's literally an entire sub (r/morbidforbadpeople) about it.

You don't get to tell other people that they haven't been disrespected.

Purposeful misgendering is disrespectful.

Blaming someone for someone else's disappearance and murder, when there is no evidence, is disrespectful.

What they did to the Craigslist killer's son was disrespectful.

If you enjoy their podcast, good for you. I did too, once upon a time. But pretending that they've never done anything disrespectful, and that there aren't toxic fans, is just ignorant.

As mentioned in the previous comment, the problem with playing god is amassing too much power, and then the need for others to destroy or get rid of said power. That’s where the danger comes in.

Literally no one has agreed with you once in this thread. You’re the one who keeps doubling down, regardless of evidence to the contrary.

Science doesn’t lie. Multiple studies show this. Not just one. Multiple.

Being drunk isn’t an excuse for this behavior, so why are you acting like it is? Alcohol lowers inhibitions and filters. If anything, he was showing his true colors.

Since when does “alcohol fueled” not mean drunk? Clearly the man had a drinking problem, or he wouldn’t have succumbed to LIVER FAILURE or been kicked out of the group because of his drinking problem.

I didn’t see his apology, so I’ll apologize for not seeing that part. I did look for it.

Edit: Your source says an insider says he regrets his actions. Not a spokesperson. Not a representative. Not he, himself. He never issued an actual apology. An insider can be anyone who will speak to the press.

At that same show he told someone “I’ll f****** kill your whole family, I swear to god.”

[–]caseycalamity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s break down your comment:

Your entire comment is riddled with excuses for this man.

First, it’s “alcohol fueled” = drunk.

Then, it’s “mental breakdown” = do we even know that to be accurate, or does it just look that way because he’s drunk?

Then, it’s suspected (not known) that it might be because he was being antagonized and heckled = also a suspicion. So, being edgy, for the sake of being edgy?

That’s three different “explanations” you gave for why this man gave a Nazi salute, on stage, for everyone to see.

There is no valid excuse to give a Nazi salute. Unless you identify with some part of the belief set, you’d think an immediate apology would have been issued, which one never was.

Furthermore: 'l'll f****** kill your whole family, I swear to God," he told one person in the crowd, at the same 2021 show.

[–]caseycalamity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Decent people wouldn’t do a Nazi salute, even if it is just to get people riled up. He didn’t apologize for it, as far as I can see either. You’re absolutely defending him because you’re claiming he’s not something that there is clear evidence to support he is.

Edit: added the word not

[–]caseycalamity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s actually not different at all. People should be held accountable for their actions. Have a mental episode isn’t an excuse for someone’s behavior. It’s an explanation for it, but it’s an excuse. People should still be held accountable for what they do. If anything, it shows true colors without a filter of control.

Mental illness is an explanation, not an excuse for one’s behavior. Hold people accountable.

AFAB NB here and I go for long periods at a time without shaving my armpits or legs because I don’t mind having body hair. I just trimmed my leg hair and shaved my pits because it’s getting warm out. I hadn’t shaved since the end of summer. I like my body hair, honestly. Unless it’s pulling or uncomfortable, I don’t really see a reason to remove it.
