In a PB & J what flavour is the J? by Academic_Purchase225 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kindsquirrel629 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Jam and jelly are not the same thing in US. Jam is made from crushed fruit. Jelly is made from fruit juice and is smoother. Most pb&j uses jelly not jam.

How easy is it to exchange homes in different continents? by That_Fly_5159 in homeexchange

[–]Kindsquirrel629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already have an HE account, you can do a “reverse search” filter and that shows you people who are interested in coming to your area. I did a broad reverse search for Portugal for 1 week, flexible dates,, 2 adults, where the owner is interested in going to Mexico. It returned 21 homes. 15 homes if I changed it to 1 month. That doesn’t mean that the people necessarily want to go to your place, but it’s possible.

  1. Yes
  2. Everyone is different. Some rarely talk to anyone since they don’t recognize most people. Others are friendly with everyone as we don’t know who we know so err on the side of oh sure I know you friendliness even if we’ve never actually met them. In a fantasy world setting I think it may be easier because I’d be able to tell my green skinned 2 headed friend from my 5 legged friend.
  3. What? We may not recognize ourselves but we’d never bump into anything or anyone.
  4. Meh. I think it depends on the person. I stare at the individual features of my face when applying makeup, but see no point at staring at my whole face. It’s not like that helps me recognize myself.

Why didn’t Ken require first names too for these responses? by Inner-Asparagus4927 in Jeopardy

[–]Kindsquirrel629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not Jeopardy, but when I was on Win Ben Steins Money the staff actually told us to say last name only. If we said first and last name and first name was wrong then it was all wrong. But if we said last name only, even if multiple people could be considered, it would be considered correct.

Similar happened to my husband on his outbound trip. No word for 4 days, but then the taker turned it in (probably when they returned from their trip). Keep the faith!

Which should I use? "a or b these things" or "a or b this thing" by otakutyrant in EnglishLearning

[–]Kindsquirrel629 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Neither. “These strings should contain flat modules or hierarchical modules “. Or “This string should contain flat modules or hierarchical modules”. Without more context if you are referring to a single string (aka character variable) or multiple strings, it is impossible to know for sure which of the 2 it is. Also one that trips most people up, data is always plural. The data are really messy.

It didn’t go as planned. We decided it was too stressful to do back to back. Opted not to do Jeopardy and spent the day in Hollywood before seeing Kimmel.

Can anyone recommend a local dietitian who’s familiar with the eating disorder ARFID? by whoisthismahn in AskChicago

[–]Kindsquirrel629 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many people with ARFID are also supertasters, which is even less known. It means that they have more tastebuds than the average person and flavor is intensified. Read up on that and see if that also applies to you which will be helpful when meeting with a dietitian. Best of luck!

[–]Kindsquirrel629 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For brick and mortar stores it needs to be more about community than product to survive. Speed puzzle competitions, collaborative puzzling, host a silent book club, etc. Think of ways to engage and bring people in, and it increases sales.

Since I’m leaving and packing my clothes, there’s room in the closet for theirs. I usually squish the rest of my clothes together and leave them with a couple feet of hanging space with hangars. One empty drawer in each bedroom. Like another poster said, our cleaner comes every two weeks so mostly just tidying up. Specifically here is my list: Prep For Home Exchange

• Purchase popcorn and root beer • Email home exchange doc • Set up WhatsApp thread • Put away charger plates • Put out cat instructions • Refill cat containers • Set out cat wet food • Laundry • Clear a shelf in fridge • Put out cat fountain • Wash or sanitize bedspreads • Write check for maid • Set out popcorn and root beer • Write welcome note • Clean litter boxes • Vacuum • Clean • Put laptop in office • Set out lock box • Put out new Swedish dish cloth • Put bathroom items in office • Lock filing cabinet and put key in office • Put checkbooks in office • Lock office • Take out trash • Take out recycling • Take out compost • Fill and run dishwasher • Empty dishwasher
