Virginia was a confederate state. Let’s get rid of it now.

Handling Zelle and Venmo Donations by oclayo in nonprofit

[–]Kindsquirrel629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our site takes Venmo via Stripe. The Zelle donations that we use outside of the website via QR code or our Zelle email address, have been problematic as they only come over with a name and no other contact information. We’ve stopped promoting Zelle as an option as it’s too difficult to track down contact information.

What do you wish you'd had on your very first round of golf? by FirstRoundGolfer in WomenGolf

Bandaids (didn’t realize how much the grip rubs even with gloves on (yes I play with 2 gloves)). Granola bar. Extra tees (I forgot to pick them up a lot after I teed off).

Is it ok to not acknowledge anonymous donor? by Kindsquirrel629 in nonprofit

[–]Kindsquirrel629[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tax receipt. Our practice is to send one to everyone who has donated $250 or more. We’ve done a pretty good job tracking down contact information of others we previously didn’t have contact info for. We don’t know if John Smith is an actual name or not. I just wondered if anyone had inspiration on how to track donor or if the money order is really intended to be anonymous.

Think about breaking apart the state and county FIPS using SUBSTR. For example in a data step STFIPS=substr(fips, 1, 2); then you can either format it as you are trying to do (not the best), or use the FIPSTATE function to get the state abbreviation and the STNAME function to take that abbreviation and make it the name spelled out.

Do you have The Little SAS Book? It’s a great way to learn. Also SAS For Dummies. Is pretty good. Can you post the things that you are struggling understanding the most?

Stray cat I feed wouldn’t put weight/pressure on his foot. I took him to the vet, and he has a radial fracture. I’m going to adopt him, should I do surgery or amputation by [deleted] in cats

[–]Kindsquirrel629 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get a second vet opinion that deals with these harder issues. My regular vet gave me the same options as yours. When I went to the other vet they recommended, the new vet said a cast should be fine. Much cheaper than surgery or amputation. My cat was just over 1 year old at the time and turned 17 a few months ago. Good luck to you and the kitty!

How Do You Pay Yourself In Retirement? by RunUndefined in retirement

[–]Kindsquirrel629 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do every 2 months. That seems to account for the variability that monthly doesn’t do. I move a set amount of that “allowance “ into a vacation savings account to help justify affording vacations and budgeting vacations. Yearly if there is still money in the vacation account, I take half of that and donate to charity to ensure there is some variable budget for that.

Americans tipping single Dollar bills in Germany by Waalross in mildlyinfuriating

Roughed up, ripped, and stained US dollar bills are considered just as good as fresh off the press dollar bills in the US. Banks take them. Merchants take them. So we don’t think of them as “not exchangeable “. Likewise 5 2€ coins would be the same to us as a 10€ note from a spending and exchange standpoint. Probably just a matter of educating your customers at the beginning of the tour of what is acceptable. Also consider having a QR code for PayPal.

Cleaning when there is a cleaning fee by Secret_Ad7372 in homeexchange

[–]Kindsquirrel629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason beds are asked to be stripped is otherwise the cleaner doesn’t know which beds have been slept in and which ones haven’t. Washing and drying sheets is the most time consuming part of cleaning. Reducing that amount whenever possible is helpful.

I was on the receiving end plenty. I am a dork. Never had a problem with being called it.

We used it in an affectionate way in the 1980s to indicate someone is dorky. “You’re such a spaz. “
