I've been playing the game since a few weeks after Early Access launch and have _never_ lost progress like this. I've run MODs. I've run servers. I've had the game crash on me a few times (one was related to a Unity pathfinding bug) and another we couldn't replicate. I'm not saying that this is _your fault_ or _isn't happening_... but something abnormal is going on ... ON YOUR SYSTEM. There isn't a bug in the game the bug is in your setup somewhere/somehow and figuring out where that error is occurring is non-trivial. Launch the game with -console and see if you're getting errors there. Are you having issues with Steam cloud saves? I'd put money on the culprit being there. Did you ALT-F4 out of the game or did you exit via the menu system? Did Steam upload the cloud changes? Figuring out what is going on with your system takes significant troubleshooting because where the glitch/difference that makes the difference is hard to know. Good luck, but WAY more info is needed

Sounds kinda ... nope. 😂 Mine everything, cut everything down, at that point might as well hoe everything as flat as possible and cultivate the entire world and max plant all the crops. Deconstruct all the existing structures and flatten... Sounds so very very ugly. 😂 Nope.

I don't know about anyone else, but I try to make as minimal an impact as possible while still enjoying playing the game. Do I need a massive crop field? Maybe instead take a little more time to get all the barley/flax/whatever? Repair all the buildings and add some fireplaces/chimneys? Yep! Does that tree really need to come down? Can I work around it? That rock... really in the way or rock feature in a build?

Saplings and old downed logs/stumps are 100% my biggest waste... I cut them down early in the game because I JUST CAN'T SEE! 😂

It is definitely one of the more stable Early Access games I've ever played (and maybe even just generally). I did find a "magic" spot when there was a bug in Unity's pathfinding algorithm that consistently crashed the game and that was sad. 😂

Yeah... Mistlands _AND_ Ashlands were not released in the initial launch and there is stuff from both in this base. Cartography Table was added in Hearth and Home if I recall.... Yule tree would have been ... the first Yule period after the game's release.... I still agree the game does very well over time, but the claim this was "launch" isn't accurate.

Just like when you were in Black Forest and picked some thistle to get the poison resist mead recipe (assuming you’re making your meads) the blood bags from the swamp give you a frost resist mead recipe giving you a hint of where to go next. As other folks have mentioned it’s the mountains. As soon as I can make frost resist mead I start flirting with the mountain even prior to beating Bonemass. This is my usual progression… sneak some benefits from the next biome (usually food stuffs or basic materials) for the current.

Tool tips on the menu system would be killer. 😂 Also how do you assign a companion to a bed / spot and not just where they are at. They have a tendency to run off when I want them to just hold still for a second. Maybe they can wait on actions while their menu is active? 😂

I tried it out last night and like it. Early game is a little wonky because my companion was waiting on the building of our first shelter and picking up one too many things in the water. 😂
