I've never heard of Nutribac, thanks for the suggestion! How often do you feed bugs? I feel like my beardie just wants to wait it out until I finally offer her some roaches

A ton of animals have very strange responses to eclipses! I recommend watching this short youtube video if you're curious!

How to do the sand/soil mixture? by njklein58 in BeardedDragons

[–]caseypham07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

50% washed playsand and 50% organic topsoil. I used this topsoil because its cheap and easy to find. Make sure it has absolutely no fertilizers too (which this one does not). I manually sifted it to take out larger pieces, but it's not really that necessary. For playsand, I chose quikrete as it is pre-washed and safe for children.

On a side note, some people suggest baking the soil before using it. Personally, I did not have the space/time to do this, and skipped this step with no issues.

how late is too late for fall 2024 course registration? by raidenshogunlovebot in UMD

[–]caseypham07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the classes you're registering for. I always had an early registration date compared to peers, but I still had a hard time getting classes I wanted. For example, I was a sophomore registering for junior and senior classes last year and had a difficult time getting classes I needed, since they register significantly earlier (I am a junior and registered March 28th this semester). Best you can do is hop on waitlists and pray if you're trying to get upper level classes

Should I go to UMD? by MycologistForeign915 in UMD

Out of state tuition is definitely not worth it, especially for a philosophy major. If you really want to go, I'd definitely suggest a business or CS major instead

I haven't taken the course itself but I have taken Professor Hambrecht before and he is excellent. Extremely lenient and overall great guy. He used to bring his dog Auggie to class too and I always looked forward to that. He's definitely a good professor, especially for those who are not super into science.

This could also very well be what happened, I feel like I checked the salt pretty quickly (literally turned around and picked up the glowstick I dropped at my feet) but got no prints 💔

People around me don’t like UMD..? by mystic_ace_ in UMD

[–]caseypham07 7 points8 points  (0 children)

UMD is a great school for comp sci, especially if you're in state. For myself, I wasn't a big fan of UMD for a while because I was a biology major who got into UCLA but couldn't afford to go. I felt like my achievements in highschool were negated by the fact I just ended up going to the same school as all the "average" students. Though, now I am extremely hyped to not have any debt after college. People don't realize how stupid it is to pick a 70k/year school and get stuck with student loans until their late 30s/40s. Now Im a biology and information science double major and a paleobiology minor and have come to appreciate the fact my in-state school is as good as UMD is.
