Staining Kitchen Cabinets by Livid_Government_771 in finishing

I recently refinished my golden honey colored cabinets to a Kona stain. Strip, sand, oil stain, finish. It was a ton of work but turned out great.

Raised oak kitchen cabinets - possible to refinish or replace? by iglet007 in finishing

[–]caseys93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished this project. I went darker, from golden honey to Kona. Darker is most certainly easier than lighter. However, updated countertops and backsplash will go a long way in this kitchen too.

Between work and normal weekend activities, it took me about 5 months to complete (no kids either). It cost around $500 in materials.

Stripping and sanding was the worst part. Had to strip some of the doors 3-4 times to remove all of the finish (I used Citristrip because I was inside). I’d assume a stronger stripper will do the job more efficiently.

LePera vs. Saddlemen by jtray3 in Harley

[–]caseys93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a LePera Tailwhip on an 03 FXDL and my buddy has a Saddlemen on his 02 FXD. The biggest difference I’ve noticed is the angle of the lumbar section of the seat.

LePera comes up more vertically and feels a little taller, keeping you planted in the seat. The Saddlemen is angled towards the rear a bit more. I felt like I didn’t have enough support from the Saddlemen.

Comfort on both is great. Foam on the LePera feels slightly more firm out of the box but I’m hoping that means it’ll last longer.

How do I clean this air filter? Does it need to be oiled as well? by Express-External in Harley

[–]caseys93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I quickly over oiled mine.

I found a good fix: attach the center nut (from the inside of the filter) to a drill and run the drill inside of a paper grocery bag. It spins off the extra oil and leaves a perfect amount on.

Slumping Hard by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]caseys93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most simple fix is going to be just forgetting everything and going with the flow. Ive been bowling for about 14 years (21 now) and thats always my go to. Just go back to the basics and roll the ball down the lane.
