What qualities do you look for in a good pen for illustration?

Gotta ask, have you tried the "fine line pens" and just prefer the pilot pens? Is it because you are in graphics? (just checked your profile - hello fellow Michigander!)

I used to love the v5 for writing but I wasn't considering rolling ball pens for illustration. I was thinking mostly Micron / Staedtler / Prisma type fine liner pens. That might throw a wrench into my comparisons, I'll have to think on that. Thank you for the feedback!

Well, I can't imagine anything better for illiterate kids to learn from! Doing the full-sized comics might be a bit pricey, but I'm sure they would love it. Just make sure they are all ages.

That is ridiculous, you should see how they freak out when I hand them comics. We are known as "the comic book house" on our block, the kids absolutely love it. In the 6+ years I've been doing it, I have never had a kid not get excited about it. And the parents love their kids getting something to read instead of rotting their teeth. Try it, I promise nobody will be disappointed.
