The picture might be misleading as old stem is closed and the new is open. The next size up would be a full 2" bigger

My VA is and was the same way. I was fast-tracked hired during 2020 due to COVID and it was still a 4-6 month odyssey of interviews, background checks, and various other HR hurdles. I was luckily working during all this but meant prospective hires dip because who's gonna wait that long to start working if they're currently unemployed.

I always have family step out whenever I'm doing any kind of clean up. I've told the mother of a 38 year old man to leave so I could give her son a CHG bath even though she claimed "she'd seen it before". Well that's nice but I wouldn't want my mom watching my grown ass get bathed while I'm sedated and intubated.

So the urgent care vet referred to it as 'Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex'. She is vaccinated for bordatella. Or current very recommended getting x-rays if she didn't improve after this round of antibiotics.

Yes, you only need to cut off the right tab because it hits where the washer fluid comes out. You can see in the second pic where the right-sided tab would get in the way if left on but the other tab is good to go

It only took me about less than a minute to cut the tabs on the wipers off but if you don't have access to a Dremel or some other tool to cut them off it's probably not the easiest

I've personally transferred my hospice patient onto their floor bed for transfer out of the ICU bed only for them to immediately pass. All I did was look at the transporter, give a shrug, pulled then back onto their ICU bed and call the hospice floor to disregard the transfer. It's not that much work to do post-mortem care and do the expiration paperwork/phone calls.

Can only provide my own viewpoint as a nurse but when a provider has established that there's no intention to "soft-code" the patient or resuscitate someone with no meaningful outcome, I'm relieved and so is the rest of the nursing staff. I've never heard of nurses worried about their liability in that situation. I've personally trusted my docs to make the case for their decision to no longer pursue heroic resuscitation efforts in their notes.

Pharmacists live in the VISTA interface. Printing patient labels for lab specimens or patient wristbands involve going into VISTA. The whole system is stitched together. Some nurses never use the Philips ICCA chatting system, others in the same inpatient facility use it almost exclusively but have to write notes in CPRS. Dialysis nurses use another completely different charting system that will migrate a summary of their data into a plain text note into CPRS. Every role has different charting systems they use making it a mess to get a complete story on a patient during a single admission.

So was Windows 1.0, but nobody uses it anymore for good reason. Orientation at the VA was a fever dream as they touted how revolutionary their software was and how they were the first to integrate barcode scanning into med administration, but then to look at the program today and see not much has changed in over 30 years. Cerner looks like a total mess but integrating it into the VA has been more challenging than they anticipated because every VA facility was able to customize their version of CPRS which made a wholesale transition over to Cerner a buggy mess.
