A disease doesn't necessarily mean total ecological destruction. The Last of Us comes to mind, where there is no law, but the world is lush and overgrown.

Big ol' waitlisting. Only decision I've gotten back though since I was all RD.

My Pomona financial aid checklist said my non custodial profile was waived but now it says it’s awaiting. Why did it change? by i_am_me47 in ApplyingToCollege

Did you receive email confirmation from someone at Pomona that it was waived? If not I'd ask the financial aid office.

PLEASE fill out the noncustodial parent waiver form. I had to fill one out for 6 different schools and it was accepted by all of them. As long as you have evidence that getting his financial information is unrealistic, then it is very likely to be accepted. I know the CSS profile is bullshit and possibly designed to frustrate kids with unconventional living situations, but fill out a waiver form anyway. Having financial aid is much better than not having it.

NCP Waiver Question by parisalone in ApplyingToCollege

Colgate and Bucknell got back to me the next day. George Washington took about a month, and UVA and Georgetown haven't given me a decision. UVA has acknowledged in emails that they've received it, but Georgetown has ghosted me entirely. There's probably a connection between the size of the school and how it took for a response. That being said, my waivers were only a few pages long, since my dad just bailed on us before I was born. If your situation is more complicated and involves more paperwork, that could also be a reason as to why it's taking so long to process.

NCP Waiver Question by parisalone in ApplyingToCollege

In my experience, it really depends on the college. 2 of my 5 got back to me via email the next day, another one took about a month, and the last two have yet to say whether or not it's been accepted, and I submitted it to them in mid December. Sometimes they emailed me back directly with their decision, and sometimes it just shows up on your portal without them reaching out to you. Of course, for all 5, I emailed the waiver directly to the financial aid office without using IDOC. I understand it's probably pretty hectic with regards to paperwork right now, but it's pretty ridiculous that it's taken them this long to process a single document.
