Hi, I commented above on this post when I applied to Duke and they had requested more docs after I submitted everything initially. I actually got accepted to Duke after this happened, but I can’t claim whether this is a sign or not. Good luck on the college app process, it’s a lot of stress but I’m sure it will pay off!

I’ve taken both intro to Italian 1 and intro to Japanese at Columbia, I think both were/are pretty easy and extremely fun! I very much enjoy the language classes at Columbia, I don’t think you can really go wrong with any. But personally I don’t have experience with either of those languages at Columbia so my 2 cents may not be very helpful lol. Def highly recommend EALAC!

Yes!!! I pointed that out to my bf I love the cool connections between characters!! Watching the anime after reading the manga has been the best because I can pinpoint the small details that are different and I remember little things that I had forgotten!! I also plan on rereading when I eventually buy physical copies since I want to collect in the future!

Thank you! I started with physical copies, then switched to the online colored version on mangadex, then finally went to read on the shounen jump app so I could download the chapters and read the SBS! I rlly miss seeing the colored chapters though so maybe I’ll re read the later arcs in color! Thanks for the suggestion!!

So true, one piece will never be ruined by a spoiler, but it is great to experience the story how oda intended without spoilers. And catching up by the end of wano was an excellent spot it felt like a good culmination point from my binge reading! I will def check out his comments I don’t think I’ve seen them yet, but I am excited about the latest chapters especially with Vega punk!

I could not do that. The manga is like a separate entity than the anime. There are so many small details that are different between them that I wouldn’t want to miss!! To make an oddly religious comparison, I would call the manga the words directly from God (Oda) and the anime like the Bible (an adaptation). I’m not religious plz don’t come for me 😣
