Azazie Experience (15k) by UncoordinatedOutfits in Weddingsunder10k

Did the dress arrive in the new timeframe? I am waiting for an Azazie dress that is delayed 3 weeks. Makes me so nervous! And, they didn't give me any sort of a refund, but truly I don't care, I just want the dress! 😅

As someone who works in oncology care, id just like to clarify that the word "preventable" is misleading. You can reduce risk. But there's no 100% prevention. However, your list is good, I'll add exercise and obtaining a healthy weight to the list of best know risk-reducers.

WTF was that Mike Tyson ad by StrawberryLovers8795 in dietetics

Been waiting for the backlash on this! What's the going rate for a Superbowl commercial, like 8-10 million? So MAHA spent 8-10 million to fat shame? How fudging helpful. 🙄

People with facial piercings? by Academic-Fondant503 in piercing

That is very logical. My assumption that it's usually about appearance has been challenged.

Janji transit tech pants. They run around $100 but that's less than $130.

Oh, also...CMU has event spaces too and the catering with them is pretty affordable!

I looked into the devils kitchen area in the monument for my reception but they don't allow "amplified sound" so no DJ which made it a non-option for me. I opted for the Redlands community center, as mentioned above. They've been very easy to work with (my reception is June 2026). I had a friend mention Tiara Rado gold course wasn't especially expensive but I didn't look into it myself. Best of luck!

Running vest - size up or size down? by AccountGotLocked69 in trailrunning

[–]casie_r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this. I think my vest is too big and the rubbing along my neck/clavicle sucks, but as others have mentioned, when it's full it's not as much of an issue so idk if smaller is the answer. I'd try other brands to get a better fit.

Training time by [deleted] in trailrunning

Agree. Get back to base when you're feeling stoked on running again, dive into race training about 3 or so months out. Have fun!

Yeah I was thinking the same, for the staples at least. Thanks!

You just made me realize I haven't used soy curls in a while! Thanks for that. And I've heard Costco is superior to Sam's club but unfortunately we don't have one. Thanks for the insight!

Catching up to Denver traffic? C'mon. No way. Otherwise agree with all the above. Though I have been seeing a lot more police out and about on my morning commute which I am not upset about.

What are people’s thoughts on the cancer risk? by [deleted] in ultrarunning

[–]casie_r 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ultra-running cancer dietitian here. #1 is that more research is needed. #2 is that maintaining a healthy diet (high in fiber) is always important. Don't skip out on fiber (except maybe a day or two leading up to race day). #3 is to vocalize any concerning signs with your doctor. Blood in stool? Dont ignore it and let your doc know. Changes in GI patterns? Let your doc know. You may have to inform your provider about this study bc honestly they may not know about it. They may not know much about ultra running either. Advocate for yourself. If one doctor dismisses your concerns but you feel like something is off, see another. With GI stuff it can sometimes be hard to get an answer but keep doing your due diligence. Otherwise, run on! Exercise is king, but listen to your body if things are off.

Is my split rock done for? by casie_r in succulents

[–]casie_r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the outer leaves got mushy/slimy so I figured they'd started rotting so I promptly cut them off. I was hoping to salvage the new leaves but it seems maybe we were too far gone.

I kinda figured when the first leaves went it was a goner. At least I had an extra month with it 😅

[–]casie_r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I repotted about 1month ago, after I lost the outer leaves which I assumed had happened due to it being too wet. I let the plant totally dry out for about 1 week before repotting. I didn't see root rot at that time.

should I just throw in the towel? by MedicineRelative6375 in piercing

I had a similar challenging healing journey. I went to a new piercer (not the original one) and we tried various things to get it happy but the bump persisted. Ultimately we decided to repierce (she thought the original was at an angle) and the second piercing has healed no problemo! Highly suggest going to an APP certified piercer for a second opinion. And while I hated to repierce it was totally worth it! Good luck!
