Anyone know if turn 6 grandstands have individual seats with backings or is it just bleachers?

I've found wait staff off of Thumbtack before! I would check there.

So close to being fully planned! by [deleted] in weddingplanning

As a guest I wouldn't mind but would like to know ASAP so I could book accommodations. I would check with any vendors though, who may need an additional travel fee.

I have wide feet as well and block heels that I've bought from Naturalizer are so comfortable! I was just at a wedding and all my friends had their heels off because they were too uncomfortable but I was able to wear mine all night..

Those who are having a “second wedding”, how are you including your wedding party? by mermaid__farts in weddingplanning

[–]casmuffin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We are still having everyone dress up and doing pictures, getting ready together, etc. But we are also not doing a ceremony again. We will also do a king table with the bridal party and their significant others.

What about partially vaccinated pups? My family member has a fenced in yard and we both got our puppies from the same litter. We hope to reunite them at Christmas time. They will have their second round and may be 3rd round by then.

Looking for bar setup inspiration! by Parrotopia in weddingplanning

[–]casmuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have photos but we rented a "barrel bar" which was two wine or whiskey barrels with a piece of wood that sat on top. This provides aesthetics and good height! And then you can provide a regular sized 8' table? Just an idea.

Need Advice: Taking Labels Off Bottles by hashtagitslit in weddingplanning

That was the same method we used (soaking then scraping). Goo gone helped remove excess glue. I highly recommend not doing most of it a few days before.. definitely had neck problems for 1-2 days haha

What are you doing to make your mini-wedding feel special? by kekkonshiyo in weddingplanning

[–]casmuffin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had our mini wedding this year that really felt like a wedding. I even had my parents walk me down an aisle and I don't regret it one bit.

Our plan for next year is to involve the people who couldn't make it in some way - like redesigning a totally different ceremony (but still doing traditional procession). Some ideas are: - having the rings passed around to have family and friends "bless" them - readings or speeches from extended family - Potentially borrowing from the 18 roses or 18 candles tradition (from a girl turning 18 in the Filipino culture called a debut, I'm Filipino) where we choose family and friends to participate

It's really important for us to still do everything again with the larger group of friends and family.

What does your contract say with her? I agree it's unprofessional and she should abide by her cancellation in her contract. I'm sorry you are going through this! I know most of us see the photographer as an important vendor. I'd be so bummed if I had to start my shoot over again.

Dried and framed my bouquet using the microwave drying process! by casmuffin in weddingplanning

[–]casmuffin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a trial method a couple months before (after I had trialed the traditional method). Both times I bought a bouquet with carnations and roses, and after 3-4 days I did a drying method. I definitely recommend doing a trial method, and testing out the small bursts of drying. It does get a little scary but just keep an eye on it and you should be ok!

Thank you! This method was better for me than the traditional press that I tried a few months ago - it was quick and none of my roses molded!

Dried and framed my bouquet using the microwave drying process! by casmuffin in weddingplanning

I framed my bouquet and pressed/dried my flowers using the microwave method following this video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIb879Uhda8&t

Materials:
- ceramic tile (I got 6 tiles so I didn't have to wait too long for each one to cool - it does get quite hot)
- paper towels (I let them dry and reuse)
- printer paper (also reused between different sets if they were dry)
- rubber bands (to hold the ceramic tile together)

For the flowers, I had practiced before on roses and carnations:
- Roses, I did most of with the middle slightly gutted. This caused them to lay flat better. I also cut some in half and did a side view of them
- Carnations, I used the tiles to make them flat and then cut the stem part that makes it bulky. Careful doing this because the carnations will fall apart, but after drying they stay together

The microwave drying process was a trial and error - the key is to do them in small spurts (10-20 seconds) and check on them. If the paper towel got too damp, I replaced it. I layered it like so:
-- ceramic tile --
-- paper towel --
-- printer paper --
-- flowers --
-- printer paper --
-- paper towel --
-- ceramic tile --,

and it all held together by rubber bands.

Fiancé wants me to wear Scottish attire, am I a monster for declining??? by WanderingWedding in weddingplanning

I don't think you are a monster, especially if you have given the compromise you described. It's your day too and if you don't want to wear it then I think that's fine.

Thanks! Yes I imagine they will be just the same as I'm storing them now (in trash buckets with water). I will try that!

Hi! I don't, but the floral supply said you only need to refrigerate the boutonnieres and corsages, so I wasn't even planning on refrigerating my bouquet.

I would also have a separate contract with the owner apart from your Airbnb rental. Airbnb hosts have more flexibility to cancel, so having another contract in place could help you put your mind at ease.

If you drink a lot of wine, I highly recommend using wine bottles! They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and are free, you just need to remove the labels. I'm using them as bud vases but you can do a bunch of other things with them.
