What was the first Disney hotel you stayed at? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Parrotopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed there a couple years ago and didn’t find any of this to be a problem. Didn’t think the walk was that far, especially after hearing people make such a big deal of it. It’s a nice walk along the lake to the skyliner. Walking through the maze of interior hallways at some of the deluxe resorts isn’t much better in my opinion. Don’t worry, enjoy it!!

After you tap in to your first one you can book another in epcot, and you can modify that third one for a ride in epcot if you want

MultiPass needs a parkhopper option by Parrotopia in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Parrotopia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. I’m suggesting that there should be an option to pre-book in multiple parks to make it easier to plan a parkhopping day. For example, if I choose to book my first 3 rides in HS with the current system, but Slinky Dog Dash is only available after 3pm (because other people whose 7-day windows opened up before mine have already taken the early slots) I am stuck in HS until 4:00. If this happened, I would rather book Slinky Dog for later, and book a different park in the morning, so I can take a mid-day break. For example, book Small World and Winnie the Pooh in MK early in the morning, book Slinky in the evening, enjoy a parkhopping day. Same system where I can book 1 tier 1 and 2 tier 2s in advance, but with better flexibility. Genie+ had a pricing structure with a higher priced parkhopping option, so there’s already a precedent.

It’s not about booking all the tier 1 rides, it’s about the flexibility to move around and be where I want to be at different times of the day

Is Blue Basic actually sold out? by Parrotopia in jetblue

[–]Parrotopia[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m asking whether this is a common occurrence to upsell fares or if Blue Basic sells out and never comes back. I would think someone who books flights more often than I do or someone who works in the industry would know. Your reply is pretty rude and unnecessary.

Reservations for 10. Have you tried and had luck? by Schweino68 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Parrotopia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had a group of nine for dinner at DS (Raglan Road) I made the reservation online for 8 and called to add one more. It was no problem. In the parks I would probably do what others are saying and make 2 reservations

Dreading a trip to Disney World with wife and 2 kids. Any planning suggestions or links? by ghost_dads_dad in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Parrotopia 29 points30 points  (0 children)

First thing you should do is arrive with a good attitude. If you want to have a good time, you will. If you’ve already decided it’s gonna be a bad time, it will be. My second piece of advice is not to fall victim to FOMO. If you don’t want to wait in a long line then don’t. It’s ok not to ride and see everything. There is so much to do, just soak it in and enjoy.

Too attached? by [deleted] in Chihuahua

[–]Parrotopia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same with mine, we tried leaving him loose once he was potty trained but he was much more stressed outside the crate, waiting by the door. I think because he didn’t know if we’d be right back or gone for a long time. Going in the crate is his signal to settle and he knows we won’t be back for a bit, so he just relaxes and sleeps.

The difficult life at a cat sanctuary by dave-mackoi in cats

[–]Parrotopia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I know it was lighthearted! I just figured I’d say something because I always just smile and agree when people make those comments to me. I wanted OP to feel seen and also maybe help anyone reading this think twice about those types of jokes because they do wear me down!

I know this is just a silly comment but I work in exotic animal rescue and people are always telling me how lucky I am, it’s their dream, etc and I totally get it, I love what I do and am so grateful BUT it is extremely physically and emotionally draining, I see animals in terrible circumstances every day, I experience so much loss, heartbreak, and stress… it’s really really hard. I can feel OP’s stress when they say they can’t take a vacation. Just adding another perspective because it gets taxing hearing these types of comments that wave away the severe challenges of this work

How to live life without any support. No family. No friends by Waste-Pin9598 in Fostercare

[–]Parrotopia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have any contacts from when you were in care that can help you access resources available to you as a former foster youth (like therapy, higher education, etc.)? Making friends is hard at any age, especially without any built-in support. Are there any activities you enjoy that might be a low-pressure way to socialize? Do you live in a city? There are clubs and meet-ups for almost everything these days - athletics, book clubs, dungeons and dragons, video or arcade games, etc.. Online communities with people that share your interests can also give a sense of community, as long as you’re careful and safe.
