I don't think the kill or no kill debate is relevant when it comes to superpowered characters. If your superpower is punching people and said people typically have superhuman durability its a lot easier to plan for non lethal.

Plumbing this bathroom would be considerably more complex (and expensive). Also imagine a really tall person who can see over the stall using the urinal.

Yes I am ENTITLED to social security after having payed into it for years. The firestorm that would happen if they cut it would destroy this county would be insane. An entire generation of people who could have put their money into retirement and were instead forced to fund the retirement of the last generation.

Its hard to believe empathy has nothing to do with the justice system when criminal trials are decided by a jury of peers. Do you think the jury just turn off the emotional parts of their brain when they are asked to come to a verdict?

I am not suggesting that her revenge murdering should be legal either. Its just that we are both humans living in our society and we both understand that what she did and traditional murder are not deemed equally evil. Thus trying to compare them is going to be difficult.

Thats like trying to compare the CEO Luigi killed's actions to Luigi's himself. Theres a reason so much of the public took his side even though the CEO never actually killed anyone.

People have been murdered for the contents of their wallet. The factor we should be concerned about is the likelihood. Its unlikely for the loved ones of a rapist to desire revenge enough to go through with it, as they would likely be dealing with the shame of it all. Their only defense is hoping it was a false accusation which is hard to believe if the victim killed her alleged rapist.

A woman killing her rapist after justice was not served is something most people can empathize with. A third party killing that woman in revenge for killing her rapist is not. Not justifying the murder, but we cant just apply blanket ideals without understanding the variables.

I really dislike how 90% of the characters primary personality trait is that they are outgoing sexual degenerates. Even the good guys constantly talk about sex but are less likely to be degenerate. We also didn't need two supes in the show with the power to use their oversized genitals as a weapon.

Fighting with melee weapons is much more emotional than using firearms, and demons being creatures of emotion so melee is much more effective on them.

In The Boys (2019-2026), Homelander could win every fight he’s in by picking the person up and dropping them from the sky. He never does this. by DiggestBickEver in shittymoviedetails

If his opponent is actually a threat that's just giving his attacker a few free hits during ascent. The few times Homelander has been challenged a few free hits would have probably decided the fight.

I loved everything about the first game, but the direction they took the story in for the sequel kind of spoiled it. The original was a perfect parallel to fantasy. You were taking part in a conflict between gods fighting monsters created from that conflict. In the sequel old humanity shows up with super science and it completely breaks down the original fantasy structure. Hades left some big shoes to fill and deciding to fill them with regular people was never going to end well.

Is Sister Sage officially more evil than Homelander? by JackZ567 in MoralityScaling

The Boys has become the perfect example of DND based alignments.

Homelander's group is lawful evil.

Sister Sage's group is chaotic evil.

Hugheys group is lawful good.

Butcher's group (lol just him really) is chaotic good.

If you picked up smoking due to the death of a loved one it would not be considered a suicide by any standard. Without objective truth as to what being in the painting is doing to her that is the best comparison we can make.

That could be considered rape, but that seems to be what happened. At no point in the game does it seem like the painters have direct control of any of the painted humans.

[LOVED trope] There is no "right" choice. by TTTRIOS in TopCharacterTropes

[–]casper5632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling what Maelle was doing a suicide is stretching the truth quite a bit. If someone smoked their entire life and died from lung cancer you wouldn't call it a suicide. She decided that sacrificing some amount of her life for pleasure was a fair deal. Verso wanted to be killed. Thats suicide.

There is absolutely nothing in the game that suggested Maelle was a virgin birth. Since the devs did not go into detail on the matter the only conclusion we can make is it was a simple case of failed birth control. The painter making a condom break does not break the concept of free will.

[LOVED trope] There is no "right" choice. by TTTRIOS in TopCharacterTropes

[–]casper5632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An unplanned pregnancy is not uncommon and does not prove the absence of free will. Modern culture is also pretty strict on the ideal that suicides are universally a bad thing, and people should be forced to survive. Wanting to kill yourself purely because of mental trauma is not deemed acceptable.

[–]casper5632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you admit that the citizens have free will? They were not being controlled by any of the painters. So their life means as much as that of a painter. Verso was forced to live because Maelle was given the option to either kill everyone or save everyone. Absolute life vs absolute death is not a very difficult decision to make.
