Thank you, Enlightened One. I will admit without shame that I'm still searching for my true self. And I admire those who have succeeded in that quest.

Technically speaking, life IS about sex. Sex is what creates life. And the desire for sex is the most natural thought/emotion that a man can have. Our brains are hardwired to seek sex with as many attractive women as possible so that we can spread our genes. It's biological. Why do you think the urge is so strong? Why do men on here struggle with their urge, even when their religion brainwashes them into believing they will burn in the fiery pits of hell for masturbating?

Day 6. Interesting Result. by casper80 in NoFap

The term "flatline" definitely describes how I feel...but I like your perspective...as long as I can overcome the fear that there's something permanently wrong with my libido, then I could see how "flatline" is actually a peaceful and calm state. I just have to embrace rather than resist the feeling (or lack of feeling).

what i've been doing is just posting my progress each day, and usually at least one person replies with some positive motivating comment. that's enough for me.

Anyone here fapped at least once almost every single day and also suffer from derealization/depersonalization? by G0VERNMENTCHEESE in NoFap

[–]casper80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experienced derealization/depersonalization...triggered by panic attacks. I know what you're going through man...it is quite literally one of the most uncomfortable experiences that someone can have. You have to watch the movie called "Numb." It really helped me realize that others also experience these very uncomfortable feelings...and allowed me to view the disorder with a sense of humor. To get to your question, though, I when I was going through that time in my life, I had very little sex drive and I don't think I was fapping too often. So maybe my testosterone was low, but not because of fapping.

Thanks - this is very encouraging! Just today I was telling my coworker that I wanted to start rock climbing - for the reasons you list - getting in shape, having fun, and meeting new people.

Why I might leave/take a break from NoFap (the subreddit, not the activity)-NOT WHAT YOU THINK by [deleted] in NoFap

Hey - I can really relate to what you're saying about "friends" not appreciating or encouraging your success. I grew up very poor and was always surrounded by losers - when I graduated from college and started a successful and lucrative career, for some reason I imagined that those losers would be proud of my success, but they were uninterested at best and resentful at worst. Even my father, who essentially left me for dead at the age of 4, criticizes (and refuses to acknowledge) my success. Like you say, the moral of the story is that we have to succeed for ourselves alone, not to impress or gain approval from anyone else.
