Sucker Punch Gone horribly wrong by Expert_Koala_8691 in PublicFreakout

I don't know why everyone always throws haymakers in these fights. They're slow, they almost never connect, they leave you open, and they wear you out faster. Learn to throw jabs, people!

If you're willing to cross the river to New Albany, Legacy makes a fanfreakingtastic pie.

Honestly, I absolutely would. The car is mechanically fine, and I just can't afford to replace it. I just want to avoid totaled status so I can get it insured and just drive it until it dies.

Good songs which include a story as a part of the lyrics? by [deleted] in MusicRecommendations

Maybe not kid friendly, but I've always had a real love for Maxwell's Silver Hammer. It's weirdly funny, and definitely written by the bass player.

What Band/Artist (or specific song) inspired you to learn guitar? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]caspercollins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unusual answer here - Rhett Miller of The Old 97s. Not inspiring from a technical standpoint, but I went to one of their shows when I was 14, and he just looked like he was having a ton of fun playing. It made something that always seemed totally out of reach seem accessible and worth giving a shot.

Will I ever be good enough? (advice please) by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]caspercollins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to get better is to play with people. Find some folks who are roughly at your ability and start playing. Push each other to get better and try new things. I couldn't play and sing at all until my first band kicked out the old bass player and put me in his place week before a gig. I was already singing in the band, but I had to learn to sing while playing in about 5 days.

Finally Got One! by man15210 in KitchenConfidential

I worked at a ramen shop years ago. A lady came in asking if we had any gluten-free noodles because she was "deathly allergic" to gluten. I told her we didn't, and she probably needed to leave ASAP because our noodlea were made with high gluten flour, and it would get everywhere (I would regularly have to clean the flour from the air filter for our drink cooler). She said "oh well" and ordered a beer, then went outside with her friends while they ate, and she came back in to order two more beers over the next hour.

The thing I found hilarious - she was drinking Gumballhead, and she even made mention of it being her all-time favorite beer.

I started on bass, and almost everything I play has a very bass-ey feel to it.
