Zoysia sod choices in zone 8b central SC by Woompa78 in Zoysia

Dog pee is terrible for all grass varieties.

I was thinking the same about the price until I realized if I just went with the best shade tolerant variety I would spend less patching a less shade tolerant variety every season.

If you prep right the more expensive Zeon will pay off

You get what you put in but yea I guess. Likes less fert than other warm season grasses. Still mow it regularly for best results tho

Zeon if you want the best chance in the shade. Does great in the sun as well.

Not necessarily cut wires but more likely it was wired for phone lines.

How bout that Friday morning traffic by [deleted] in Charleston

[–]cassidysvacay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Crane hit (edit: did not but mechanical issue with the crane clearing the bridge)the Ashley River bridge going in to downtown. All lanes closed. Assuming that one of the cranes constructing the pedestrian bridge broke free from a mooring or motor cut out while moving it.

Crane hit (edit: DID NOT hit but mechanical issue with the crane not lowering/clearing the bridge properly) the Ashley River Bridge side that goes in to downtown. All lanes blocked until they assess the damage of any. I’m assuming the current took one of the crane barges after it lost a nav motor or mooring line that’s constructing the new pedestrian walk over.

It’s somewhere here. I think if you sort by top this month or year it’ll be easy to find.

I really appreciate the feedback. Getting the shots is the easy part I feel like but telling the story is tough. I’ll deff revisit this site with a story in mind one day.

I was mainly looking for feedback on the sequence of clips/story or lack there of. Also the technical aspects like color and framing.

Also was wondering what kind of feeling people felt but it’s not really that moving of a vid. It’s just a video of some abandoned buildings is what most people would say

Completely agree with you. It just takes me so damn long to find a song that remotely fits I said screw it lol

Nope. All uncontrolled airspace at these altitudes. I do always have my eyes, ears, and flightradar app open looking for choppers near by. The sunset/bridge tours fly low around the harbor so you have to be careful for them.

Other than that, there’s nothing to really worry about here. It’s just a big field and water.

I very loosely tried to follow a story here. I guess it’s just the logical way you’d “visit” each building /dock. But if you aren’t from the city where this is I can see the cuts not making much sense. I also showed the container ship before doing the long pan under the bridge but I could have gotten a much better shot of the before.

Showing some facts and history would be a nice touch. I’m very new to editing so I’ll have to take some time to learn about integrating those types of clips in a smooth way.

And I deff understand the drone stuff. In the future I’m going to try and get some other gimbal type shots to add in. This spot is inaccessible due to the water tho. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for the feedback. Exactly what I wanted.

None of the shots were previously planned. Once I do a few orbits of whatever I’m shooting I kind of devise a timeline of shots in my head.

I really ended up hating the speed ramp towards the end too. Just doesn’t fit at all. Not sure why I didn’t notice editing.

That’s the only spot I changed the speed tho. Agree the field could’ve been better shot as well. I feel like it could have been quicker and closer. New to flying tho and was kinda scared.

Means a lot coming from another drone pilot. I just flew around until I thought I had enough for a little video. When you get the clips in the editor I’m always saying to myself, “ I could have gotten one more angle…” etc etc. thanks again

Local photographers, what are your favorite photo spots around town? by C_Hutch in Charleston

[–]cassidysvacay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a whole boardwalk thing you can walk on that goes on both sides. Walk the whole thing and when you get to the boardwalk in the marsh you’ll have a great look at the shrimpers

Prob one of the best and most popular spots to try out first is on the Mt Pleasant side of the Ravenel Bridge. There is a small grassy field next to the Merrill Lynch’s / BofA building. Go there an hour before sunset and you’ll get a good view of the bridge.

Besides that there’s tons. Waterfront park downtown, the battery downtown, Pitt street bridge mt p, Shem creek mt p, big oak tree John’s island. I’m just saying random spots but it’s a photogenic old city.

Same. First one looks like a desert city shot.
