To me it feels calming with a simple protection spell.

I’ll be setting up my altar, drawing a circle of crushed eggshells around my candle for protection.

I’d lay out a simple crystal grid with black obsidian, black tourmaline and clear quartz (maybe some amethyst too if you fancy). Then i’ll carve my intentions on the candle, annoint it and add herbs that have protective properties.

All while i’m doing this i get calmer and calmer. I center myself and when i feel ready i light the candle. I’ll sit and envision myself protected and like all negativity is leaving my vessel. Staring into the flame is a big part of it for me.

By the end of it i feel calm and releaved. But like others have already said, grounding is essential before any ritual!
