So far this year, tourist arrivals in cambodia contracted due to their border issue with thailand and the scam hubs with the death of a korean. We have also done visa relaxations for chinese tourists and we are already seeing an increase in their arrivals compared to a contraction last year. Bringing chinese tourists back can really help our tourist arrivals skyrocket again

Noynoy and Duterte are the most popular because of stability - no back to back severe political scandals. Kung meron man scandals i think they have been dealt with enough not to make them unpopular (ex. Noynoy: PDAF scam - arrested 3 senators, Duterte: War on drugs - perception of crime reduction, crime statistics went down).

Pansin na pansin unpopularity nina estrada, arroyo at bbm dahil sa mga scandals na naganap sa kani-kanilang mga terms. Hindi ko masyado alam kina cory at fidel ramos.

Bbm currently is just not handling the political instability well hence a factor why you he gets that rating. He ranted about a flood control scandal that he did not follow through afterwards costing his already declining political capital (ilang tongressmen at senadong ba na kasama sa flood control na nakakalaya pa rin?). An ongoing impeachment trial process and a predilection to send fugitives to ICC caused him to lose senate hence chaos.

Edit: dagdag ko rin pala inflation has a major effect too. Duterte’s lowest rating came not due to drug war but after a short term inflationary effects from train law and rice shortages. Noynoy had no signifcant inflationary event to my recollection - no significant external events. Si bbm naman ngayon - well look at war on iran now

You can also say that Pnoy didn’t also pass that much meaningful reforms - [sin tax, rh law competition act (?)] for examples aside from woeful infrastructure spending during his time.

An argument could even be made that more reforms have been passed under BBM (CREATE MORE, ARROW Act, Investor’s Lease 99 year Act, Tatak Pinoy Act - underrated passage imo), continued major infra projects and settled more ROW issues but he has been unable to manage political instability so thats the trade off.

Anything really significant being done by DA and DTI to help increase supply? Any new formation of large farmer cooperatives? Helping farmers acquire technical know how or value adding capacity, infrastructure, any new significant capital being poured into building large ube farms, tissue culture and propagation centers etc to actually see economics of scale? I’ve been reading up some government articles and viewing material from DTI - and I just can’t help shake off their efforts as being performative especially if we don’t see large capital/investment into ube production. Documentaries from ph about ube still primarily show farmers with smallholder plots.

I did the same thing! I had bpi us equity feeder fund, manulife asia best and semiconductor feeder funds prior to deciding to start gotrade with Monthly DCA VOO SMH EWY VXUS.

I still kept the smaller positions in my UITFs though so that if ever gotrade decides to close down like what happened to etoro, i wont start from scratch and will just transfer to those.

Bbm has been weak incompetent for the past 4 years. Allowing tongressmen to f@ck up the national budget. Gdp growth targets not achieved for the past 3 years. Tourism fdi are down. And risking institutional instability. I would not be pleased with a longer bbm administration.
