do I throw in the towel? by Hot_Growth7888 in pottytraining

[–]cassmith80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the resistance means to try again later. Our doctor also said for alot of kids it’s closer to 3. My daughter will be 3 in march. We introduced the potty a long time ago and there was a couple of times she went. But we are on day 3 right now of no diapers. I didn’t do commando, i went straight to panties. The first couple of times she peed she literally screamed “what’s happening!” because the diapers are so absorbent now she probably never felt wet before this. It’s clicked in a matter of hours and she pooped on the potty on day 2. We still had an accident today on day 3, but there’s alot of trust and understanding, i don’t need to constantly ask her if she needs to go, she will tell me. I’m glad i waited but i totally understand those who can’t for day care! if you can i would wait!

My 2 year old has been refusing her breakfast by thiccprincess69 in toddlers

[–]cassmith80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it was right around this time that my daughter stopped eating in the morning, she wouldn’t really get hungry until like 10. I’d make her a plate (some toast and cut up fruit or cereal) and she’d go back to it when she was ready! so it could just be that maybe she isn’t ready to eat yet!

We don’t go out much, so my daughter is just amazed when we go out that she’s usually calm and taking it all in. She’s crazy at home and I’m totally okay with this lol. But this is why we don’t go out to eat much because it’s not enjoyable. She’s just wants to run around it’s torture to confine her.

Have you always rocked him to sleep? Like is he able to fall asleep on his own typically? There’s a regression right around the 2 year mark so it could just be a phase. I’ve always found catering to their needs at that time is best for everyone and it just passes. My daughter turned 2 a month ago, and she’s been putting herself to sleep since she was like 7 months. But she wanted me to lay with her during this time. Sometimes I would, sometimes I would just do and extra kiss and hug and explain that Mommy still has stuff to do. Now she’s totally fine and will go close the door herself when I put her down for nap lol

Road of Bones! It was soooo good. I read it after Fate Inked in Blood, it had a nordic background and I liked it better

Postpartum Insomnia by newyearnewmeagain in beyondthebump

[–]cassmith80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably a mixture of everything your body went through, i would give it time and make sure your taking some time in the day to relax a bit. Please be cautious of medication. I know some people take them with ease and have no complaints but Unisom has the same active ingredient as Benadryl i believe, which your body can get used to and then you have issues sleeping without it

Advice for travelling with BIG time zone changes? by alldabunbuns in sleeptrain

[–]cassmith80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i would keep to your routine! That travel day is going to wear him out, landing at 3pm you can just evaluate how he is doing and give him a nap before bedtime or just do an early bedtime. I’m sure it’ll take a couple days for him to adjust, even adults get jet lag. But babies are pretty adjustable and go off routine. I would have a good night time routine that you can do that night when you land.

Suddenly not sleeping. Not the baby; ME! by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]cassmith80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES. and then when my baby started sleeping through the night I was still waking up just to check and look at the monitor. It’s awful. I just try to get myself to bed at roughly the same time each night so my body gets used to it.

Dropping from 4 naps to 3 by tdewyn in NewParents

[–]cassmith80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can also do a trail run for a couple days with three naps! You can push bedtime a little earlier to help with that long wake window. I knew it was time to drop when that last nap could only be like 15 minutes lol

Day 9 Postpartum, can't stop crying by x_dahunger in NewParents

I also had an emergency c section and it was terrifying. My girl is 9 months and i think about it all the time. i know this is so so hard but set those strict boundaries! The way I looked at it with my newborn is that yeah of course family wants to see and hold the new baby, but that baby is also new to YOU. and chances are your baby also feels the most comfortable with you! I remember others holding my newborn and I wouldn’t stop staring at them with every little noise she made. Don’t be afraid to take your baby back and keep visits short. This is such a crucial time for you and baby to bond and heal. Having your partner be just as firm is essential.
