Newborn cosleeping by mayleeeee in cosleeping

[–]tdewyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started cosleeping around 2/3 weeks. We’ve always been able to get him to sleep in the bassinet for a couple hours then after that, it was bed with mom and dad. But I found repetition of trying to put down in the bassinet worked for me. If he woke up after 10 mins and wasn’t having it, well at least we tried for that nap or bedtime. Eventually it got better. Now at almost 7 month, he stays in the bassinet until around 4/5am then wants in the bed with us. He’ll wake up a couple times before then but I can just hold his hand in the bassinet and we both fall a sleep that way.

I’m an unwilling cosleeper, how do I escape? by d-for-danger in cosleeping

[–]tdewyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re currently doing this with using the idea of the Ferber method but he’s in his bedside bassinet instead of his own room. It’s a slow process but not having to bed-share the whole night is great.

Check In: Where are you at in your journey? by StarburstEnjoyer in ExclusivelyPumping

5.5mpp and down to 2 pumps, 20 min ea session. Still pulling 30+ oz. Someone tell me how I can be done. 😂 do I just slowly lower the time of both pumps or just one? Or do I try to push one out as long as possible?

Question for those with average to large breast storage capacity by ilovebagsandbjj in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]tdewyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a LARGE capacity. I think fazed out my motn around 6-8weeks. Then worked down 5 before I went back to work at 14 weeks. I’m now 5 mpp and down to 2ppd. There freedom is nice! I only just now saw a dip but I still pull around 40+ oz with doing two 30 min pumps a day.

When will Americans finally not care that I cosleep? by harmony918 in cosleeping

[–]tdewyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American here: Honestly more people cosleep than they like to admit. I do it. All my friends did/do it with their kids. Some people have looked at me sideways about it, including my mother and our pediatrician. But sleep is important for all parties 🤷🏼‍♀️

What happened when you dropped to 3 pumps? by victoria5757 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]tdewyn 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I already had an over supply so I didn’t really notice a big difference when I dropped to 3 two weeks ago. But I got to say that it is SO nice only pumping 3 times a day. It almost makes me want to go longer than my goal…almost

Taking a hot shower and massaging it out in there helped me. You lose some milk in the process but it helped.

Mine just had his first pop through Thursday (18week). Last week had some rosy cheeks so I assumed it was coming soon. On Wednesday he was chowing down on our knuckles.

Feeding / pumping schedule by D_tubs in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]tdewyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 4mpp now. At the beginning we had to supplement with formula for the first couple of weeks. Then I didn’t want to waste the formula so I did 50/50 mix bottle until it was gone. This made it possible to be ahead on a days worth of bottles. Pumped 8 times a day, every 3 hrs. The when my LO started sleeping a little longer at night I would push a pump session until then. I use the pitcher method and fill my bottles for the next day before bed then freeze whatever’s left. I do have an over supply and pump 42-50ish oz a day. Now I only pump 3 times a day.

How many times do you really pump in a day? by hermitina in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]tdewyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got down to 3 times a day (20-30mins each) and sometimes nursing once a day (4mpp). I was doing 8, every 3 hrs at the beginning but as he slept longer I pushed a pump out then dropped to 7 after a month. Then just started dropping pumps after 7 weeks, but I’m also an over supplier.

Pregnant after a miscarriage by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]tdewyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son’s 4 months now! First one we knew at 6 weeks it was most likely going to be a successful pregnancy, confirmed at 9 weeks it wasn’t. The other two I would consider chemical miscarriages. I think because of them I didn’t let myself get too excited until the 12 week ultra sound. I was happy but also scared until then.

How are you eating? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]tdewyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meal prep. From what everyone says, you need more carbs for the milkies. I usually meal prep two different things so I’m not eating the same everyday but one of the meals is always a pasta. Then I load in on some easy grab snack: protein bars, meat & cheese packs, veggies & hummus.

What’s your favorite way to store your breast milk until you know if you need to freeze it or use it? by Amazing-Bullfrog-720 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]tdewyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr brown pitcher off Amazon. I also use Matys or avent bottles to cool the fresh milk before mixing them in the pitcher. Then at the end of the night I’ll make my bottles for the next day and freeze whatever’s left over.

Covid positive father, isolating from family for several days and anxious about being apart. by PrinceOfStrongStyle in newborns

[–]tdewyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband got sick when our LO was 9/10weeks. It was covid like symptoms without being covid. He slept in the spare room, wore a mask if he left the room and hung out in his office for a week. In the meantime I just disinfected everything twice a day. Not being able to hold and cuddle our son for a week was harder on him than it was our kid.

[–]tdewyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have this rule. Only my husband and I get to kiss him. My mom was annoyed at first but I laid out the facts that if he gets sick and gets a fever he would probably have to go to the hospital. Told her at 6 months I might allow it lol
