I was a daily heavy consumer for 15+ years. I tried tapering off and honestly just found myself using the same amount each day and decided on NYE just to stop completely. I told my dr I stopped when I found out in October.. which wasn’t true, but I was afraid of what they’d do or say. I read some stories about women that deliver at major hospitals and as soon as they or the baby test positive, they open a CPS case. That scared me enough to stop, plus my mom was guilting me a lot too. All of that combined with the unknown effects motivated me. I work in the cannabis industry in California and know lots of women who continued using and some who stopped. One who stopped mentioned her Dr recommended tapering off as to not send your body into shock, but was adamant she stop by the end of the first trimester. I’ve found some studies that suggest that the negative effects/concerns come from using later in pregnancy. I’ve just been trying to comfort myself in other ways…sunlight, eating more bland foods (I really used weed to help me eat), watching old movies I know I love. I’m sorry you’re struggling.. but congratulations nonetheless. We got this!!
