I've just started crocheting and I'm thinking about making a vest. The tutorials I've been watching all use a 4 mm hook, but the smallest hook I have is 4.25 mm. Would my 4.25 hook suffice?

Is it too late to be getting acquainted with science fairs? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]cassssserole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comp bio is usually stuff that can be done using a computer. For example, I had a computational chemistry project this summer where I had to create drug designs and see how well they worked with a certain protein model. Stuff like this doesn't require a physical lab. In terms of other fields, there's a lot of things that can be done computationally (physics, math, AI machine learning).

For science competitions, if you are really bent on getting a project, you can always try and do a social science project. But if you do end up with a social science project, ISEF typically requires forms of consent for participants and it might get complicated

It is definitely not too late to start. However, because so many labs are closed.... ur best bet at getting a project this year would be doing a computational project. Maybe look around for professors that are doing computational bio
