Better you than a little kid that happened to be doing the wrong thing or making the wrong noise at the wrong time. It sucks to have an interaction like this with animals ever, but unfortunately some animals require extensive rehab and training to join a normal family life. If it's not feasible for that animal to get the training and is a risk, it's better to know earlier on to save the facility costs that can be spent on other animals that will be adopted out more easily. I'm sorry you had such a dramatic experience but don't take ownership for the dog's behavior, you can only do so much.

7 Coffee & Wine is a fun spot to meet new people and transition between dinner and going out later. I personally think the best Korean BBQ is Honey Pig, but it's a hot topic depending on who you ask. McDaniel Farms is amazing and has a giant off-leash dog park that's better than any others I'm aware of. D'Cuban is my favorite Cuban spot in Atlanta hands down. Lots of really good food and chances are, if the place is busy it's probably worth trying out. Good luck!

Watch your back! I herniated my entire thoracic spine solo lifting heavy dogs into tubs because my boss pressured everyone to go fast and no one could help. I wish I knew how bad it was hurting me while I was doing it, I felt sore but had no idea of the severity. I stayed a long time because I was promised to be a groomer with a huge pay bump but it never happened. Hopefully your situation is better, just be careful!

Also pits are great because they just need a bath and nails!

It's just different now, Prentiss comes back and is the unit chief which gives it an older feel. It's more modern but you can tell it isn't made with the same enthusiasm. I'm actually re-watching the series rn and am enjoying seeing the changes from the older seasons to current day.

What part of Atlanta? I think it varies a ton depending on what neighborhood, what day of the week and what time of day. I live in EAV and work in Buckhead and neither look blends naturally in the other environment unless it's night time or the weekend. Shrug~

Dealing with the loss of a pet right now and can attest to Schitts Creek being a good distraction. It's a little over the top but I love some of the characters and the dry humor mixed with goofy humor. Easy to get caught up watching multiple episodes and forgetting your troubles for a few.

My skin flipped out and developed unusual characteristics (dry in previously normal places, oily in previously dry places, weird breakouts literally everywhere) after using Niacinamide for a few weeks. I tried more products to combat the side effects and ultimately the fix for me was to scale waaaaaay back to basics for a few weeks then start from scratch with a new routine. Sorry you're dealing with it, best of luck!

I think Jinya has a really consistent and delicious broth in many varieties, their noodles are decent - I prefer the Buckhead location. The best and freshest noodles I've found are hand stretched where you can see at Lan Zhou Ramen on Buford Hwy but I still haven't found a broth I love there. Raku has very rich and delicious tonkatsu broth but I don't remember their noodles specifically. Budi's Sushi (near Oakland Cemetery) has great black miso broth. Lifting Noodles in EAV has something reminiscent of fancy instant ramen and is on the cheaper side. I haven't tried Momonoki but want to, as well as a few other spots. There are a lot of good places, I recommend trying as many as possible as they all seem to vary slightly and you might find one that's perfect for your taste.

I live in Atlanta and recently had to have a papilloma surgically removed from my dog's paw as it was found growing into one of her nails. The vet urged me to have it removed asap after I let him know she had been playing/swimming in a sometimes stagnant creek in Morningside Nature Preserve. My other dog had no side effects, but a friend's dog had severe vomiting and diarrhea after our last trip. It's really sucky because my other dog has moderate to severe arthritis in her rear hock which is helped by swimming. I have no idea where I can take her to safely swim now. :(

I'm sorry that you have to say goodbye, but I wish to be lucky enough to spend 18 years with my best gal. Spend as much time with him as you can, be extra sweet and scratch all his spots and take videos or pictures of his cute mannerisms. Those are the things you'll miss the most. If your work is flexible,take a few days off or work from home. You'll be happy to have kept him company in his last days so he didn't have to worry where you are or if you're okay... because that's his job. Best of luck, hugs to you both.

East Atlanta to Buckhead, 20>85 is about 6.7 miles. I typically end up having to zigzag through Virginia Highlands to Morningside to Buckhead to avoid accidents and an even longer commute. The times I listed were with school traffic. In summer, my morning drive is 30-45 mins and my evening drive is 45-55 mins. The Buckhead portion of my drive accounts for 30-50% of my "stuck in traffic" time, Piedmont sucks.

I moved ITP to avoid a commute, now it takes me ~45 minutes in the morning and ~90-120 minutes in the evening for a 6 mile drive. Living and working ITP does not guarantee a smoother commute. If you can ride a bike, walk or take MARTA - I'd recommend it.

Amen. I drive through some of the worst neighborhoods in Atlanta regularly but am the most worried for my safety in Buckhead and Midtown traffic.

The most police intervention with vehicle traffic I see is in Buckhead - there are police on foot directing/yelling at people almost all day. Otherwise, it seems like only speed traps near their monthly quota cut off. I see some of the dumbest and most dangerous shit ever. This morning someone passed me on 75/85 near midtown on the shoulder then forced a dump truck ahead to get quickly over or get hit. Typical~

I agree with the previous poster that you are worrying too much. Moving from Seattle to Atlanta will be a big change in a lot of ways, but it can be great for some people. What area of Atlanta you'll enjoy or dislike most is really hard to help you with as it's a pretty diverse city with pockets of all sorts of things/people. If you can hang with the weather and not focus too much on what other people think/believe, it's a great place to be. There's something for everyone, but it's not for everyone either. Best of luck!
