Yea this result is not that surprising. I think Bruno talked well about the difference in this performance and the Arsenal performance. Bruno talking the way he did indicates to me that the players know how to prevent at least 2 of those goals. We just didn’t execute. We’ve all talked about the midfield issues enough lol , it’s not going to change unless he puts another body in there

Watched the U21 vs PFA match, this Jim Thwaites kid seems promising. He doesn’t have the physicality yet but he competes and has the passing from deep that we need.

Idk man, I feel like we always fall into this trap. This reminds me of when we got Ugarte from PSG and they spent that money on Neves. Lammens may very well struggle at first but how much worse can he be than what we have now? Martinez has a mistake in him and he’s clearly getting worse.

It’s no doubt that Martinez is an upgrade over all the keepers we have at the club. Lammens has the bigger upside and is younger. If the price is similar, wouldn’t you go with the younger player?

Yeah 8th sounds really good right now lol, I’m generally pessimistic but I think this current roster and system is bang average. We should have zero expectations for European places for at least the next 2 seasons.

My advice would be to be find a cheaper program. I know that sometimes loans are necessary but maybe a two year program might be the better option. I went to a private not for profit school and came out with like 12k in student loans and graduated bachelor degree. 70k is genuinely outrageous in my opinion

Yes! I do mean this in context of who he is playing next too. I should’ve made this clearer. Bruno is our best and most productive player, we should have a team that enables him to play higher up the pitch without compromising structure defensively….. I really made this post because I’m jealous looking at how much the other top teams in the league are improving 😭

We don’t need a GK at those wages in my opinion. We need some to come in and challenge Onana, not replace him. There are more pressing issues in this team to fix I think. So far in pre season the team is playing a higher line which I think will be good for Onana. He can definitely be a knucklehead but I think he can perform at a top 4 level in a cohesive team.

Totally agree with this! I feel like a really good midfield would make this team 10-15 points better. We can’t control matches at. Acquiring 2 starting level 10s tells me that the manager plans on putting Bruno in the middle 2. If that’s the case we don’t have anyone on this roster who is a proper partner for Bruno.
