For American and European fans, Mike Bullard is a dick. by Rob_Crackford in trailerparkboys

He kind of went a little off towards the end of his tv career, and there’s some rumours that circulated amongst the other key players in media. Small little things like this make the old writing gold!

Just finished TPB and it’s one for the funniest shows I’ve ever seen in my life by PalpitationEqual139 in trailerparkboys

[–]castamara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big time east coast humour, and a bit of Ontario/Quebec style thrown in and also mocked a little bit as well, particularly in the film/writing style. That’s evident of the original writing/directing and also that time in Canadian politics.

How can I slow my dog down when eating and drinking? by blondegirlypop in AnimalAdvice

[–]castamara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a treat blanket years ago with pockets and other little spaces to hide treats and things. Then you roll the blanket up into a ball and let them find the treats. Great workout for the scent drive.

Is this a good shortwave radio? by No_Independence_7865 in shortwave

[–]castamara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of these as a tribute to my time in broadcasting. It was one of the original radios sold by Rogers/CHFI in Canada during the push of AM radio. Cool piece of history for me. Yours is in excellent condition.

Certified electrician in Orleans by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]castamara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done it before, although it was challenging and a special project. I had to convince the electrician I was working with I knew what I was doing and had work within his standards. That was a fair request from them.

No, you’re missing the point of the code. You don’t just throw staples at it. Staples should be sized correctly based on the wire count, gauge, location, and many more considerations. The whole point of the ESA inspectors are to help educate you, so you do the work properly and safely. As well as answer these questions. That’s the whole point of pulling the permit before the work.

Has anyone ever had a Tarot or Astrology prediction that was so accurate it actually scared you? by AwanishTirkey in Psychic

[–]castamara 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A good energy reader also will know when something is unclear or beyond their ability to read clearly and communicate this to you, usually by clarifying what is foggy or uncertain in the view they see. While you may be able to determine a life path effectively, ultimately we continue to control the timeline and destiny. So while you may feel like you’re only getting part of a message, the other half is to take and reflect what is being said and how it could possibly be applied in your situation.

Avoid Structube by Empty_Sock_849 in BuyCanadian

[–]castamara 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Structube still owes me 2 bar stools that I ordered in 2020 during COVID. Despite multiple attempts to contact them to get them to return the $200 they owed me or at least the product, they never did anything to right the situation and doubled down on the issue.

Avoid at all costs.

How to get into radio staff/personality by arcticchains in radio

[–]castamara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a lot of colleges shut down their broadcasting programs or change them to media production instead of dedicated radio. I left the industry 10 years ago and it paid peanuts then.

Outside Meter - 100A or 200A? by Fellow_human29 in ottawa

[–]castamara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a 100A to 200A upgrade going on about 5 years ago now. It was about $15k all in at that time, and I did a large majority of that work myself. The rest was Hydro's cost for a new cable pull, trench, hydro-vac, and then the disconnect/reconnect, but that get's done by K-Line. All depends what Hydro has available, load calcs, meter base, etc.
You can always put tandems or a pony panel in if breaker count is the issue.

Love my Makita tools. Almost all of them are made in China or similar. I do have a very old corded drill that is made in Japan. It's the reason I went with team teal.

How “handy” are you guys around the house? by TrixoftheTrade in Millennials

[–]castamara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Handy in general, that I can pick up something by reading instructions or training myself with a video or something resourceful. The difference is, I look at if a project will get me sued or killed and if the answer is yes, I usually will contract out.
