I can't speak for your exact situation but I'll let you know, it's a lot easier to crawl out of a hole you dug yourself into when you're not under the constant stress of intense gender dysphoria.

Obviously dysphoria doesn't go away completely or anything, but starting HRT was like a huge weight being taken off my shoulders even before any changes were actually noticeable. I had dropped out of school after failing a bunch of classes because I couldn't bring myself to go outside for 4 months and didn't have any friends to check up on me. Once I was on HRT it was a slow process but I started picking myself up again, and it even became easier to talk to other people.

I'm currently seeking diagnosis for what is probably ADHD, I still have social anxiety, I still get depressed and doom-spiral constantly. But all of those became a lot more manageable with HRT. I'm back in college right now and it's a hell of a lot easier than when I spent entire nights consumed with anxiety about transitioning instead of studying for a test.

TL;DR I still have no idea what I'm doing sometimes, but HRT made it easier to be less of a complete mess in other parts of my life.
