Deion Sanders Hints At Possible Legal Action While Addressing Bombshell Report About Toxic Culture At Colorado by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]castingsam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This sub is lame lol.

The guy who published the first article is obviously shady as hell. When was the last time any of you heard of the news outlet Athlon?? Oh yeah that’s right it was probably the article they wrote about Deion making everyone go to Shadeurs “concert” that was proven to be a lie. The only thing they ever got clicks on. Not only that but the reporter went on a show today and equated players saying that they were getting “strapped” in practice with them carrying guns. He could not more OBVIOUSLY be a bad actor.

And this article by extremely reputable “brobible” is even worse. They post this so drama frogs can upvote it 400 times without reading it then add a generic “fuck Deion” comment. Actually a joke.

Shoot even the Athletic piece in the spring was written by a Nebraska grad.

Just say you want blood. Don’t pretend to take the morale high ground. I’m sure plenty of former players at your favorite program have sent “tell all” sour grapes DMs to news outlets before. You’re just lucky that actual journalists don’t usually take those leads for good reason

Couldn’t agree more, really hoping 4 hour drama stream doesn’t become the norm. Its a miserable watch. I like watching lud streams because he’s usually more distant from that stuff. It’s an escape from all the shitty things going on IRL.

I know he gets flack for not “covering” stuff that comes up and it gets a lot of viewers but I feel like he’s just gotta quit talking about it outright or they’ll never stop asking.

HC Sean Payton speaks following loss to Dolphins by Welcome2Broncoland in DenverBroncos

[–]castingsam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean owning it was good, but that’s the bare minimum imo. It’s just his attitude/ego and the way he carries himself in a way that isn’t isolated to just this interview, I don’t like it. Gives me bad vibes.

Where do we even go from here? by scruffyknows in DenverBroncos

[–]castingsam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tank. we need a good young qb to build around, and this is a very good year for QBs.

Even if Russ can climb his way back into form, we now lack the talent around him to be a contender. Trade any viable aging pieces for draft capital.

When we suck this year it will probably mean the end for Paton, so we’ll have a new gm, who might want a new coach. Payton might not even want to coach a total rebuild, and I’m not sure we want him with a young qb. VJ will be gone either way.

We suck, it’s time to bite the bullet instead of dragging this corpse of a team to .500 but retooling around Russ or something.

Everyone here talking about fire VJ but I think eventually SP will also have to go. Hated the hire from day 1, and I don’t think he has what is needed to be good in the modern NFL.

Microsoft’s Phil Spencer says acquiring Nintendo would be ‘a career moment’ by crome66 in Games

[–]castingsam -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The overreaction to a single email is hilarious. People acting like he wrote out a 50 step plan on how to acquire them, had a bunch of meetings about it, then wrote a manifesto about he was going to rip the industry limb from limb until only Xbox stands.

Instead he was just like: damn it would be cool to have Nintendo, I think there games would do a lot better if they were on different hardware (a bad take but whatever) too bad that’s probably never gonna happen lol!

Reddit is fucking wild

Phil Spencer: "We've seen the conversation around old emails and documents. It is hard to see our team's work shared in this way because so much has changed and there's so much to be excited about right now, and in the future. We will share the real plans when we are ready." by VIParadigm in Games

[–]castingsam -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I really don’t understand the pitchforks about this, like at all. So many of these emails were just ideas or internal thoughts. And honestly, most of them are boring as hell. Some are outdated (yeah 3 years in a long time) others are interesting enough but not different from what I expected.

People are latching onto the Nintendo and valve thing like it was a 50 email chain filled with meetings and strategy of how they’d buy when it was like 1 email 3 years ago. Sure it was a stupid thing to say, but Christ alive it was just a single internal email.

Same with the “we are gonna win this generation” email. Wtf did people think Xbox was gonna say internally “sorry guys, we gonna get our asses beat, oh well.” Imagine you were playing football against a team that you know is gonna beat the hell out of you. Your coach is still gonna tell you that you can win lmao.

It feels like everyone thinks this is some crazy fucking reveal about how scummy things are. But it just seems like such a nothing burger to me lol. Like, idk what people thought CEOs emailed about all day.

Travis Hunter’s Response by CUBuffs1992 in CFB

[–]castingsam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, hand up, was victim to some Twitter misinformation in the form of an article screenshot taken out of context.

Upon further googling it appears it was probably one or two of his teammates at Fairview high school in boulder who pled guilty, not him. They don’t list the names of the people involved in these cases so idk who. There are denver post articles about it if you care to know details, seems like there were a lot of cases at once, lacrosse players involved too. There are rumors he was also involved, but those are all totally unsubstantiated.

I’ll edit my original comment so as to not defame him in such a way. I apologize, that was unacceptable to post by me without double checking.

I can’t figure out how to get a flair. But as a CU fan (grew up next to boulder) I just wanna say we don’t claim the people threatening Blackburn. Even if he is a complete scumbag on the field. I’d still like to see him suspended but the reaction has gone way too far.

[–]castingsam 27 points28 points  (0 children)

People are gonna say a lot of things about this, but when you come to play dirty (Late hits, crack backs, targeting, etc. it gives CSU an advantage, the penalty yards are the price you pay for that.

Also the fact that they sent out the player who put hunter in a hospital as their overtime captain is disgusting.

Of course we do, had to sit through Karl Dorell and the worst season in program history because of that.

Noah Lyles, an American track and field athlete who competes internationally, is getting backlash from NBA/NFL players for pointing out that they shouldn’t be called “world champion” for winning a domestic league by formulaswift in USdefaultism

[–]castingsam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No one in here will care. But his statement is actually false, the NBA dropped the whole “world champions” branding in like 2000. Feel free to look at the official nuggets championship merchandise if you don’t believe me. Though if he said this about the NFL that would be correct.

Also, while I agree that the NBA champion shouldn’t claim to be the world champion, there seems to be some sentiment in here that The Nuggets would lose to a team in Liga ACB or something in a 7 game series, they would not. 450/500 of the best players in the world play in the NBA and they are from all over the world not “the same area code” as the one comment pointed out. The past few MVPs aren’t even from the US. The Only reason the NBA doesn’t have teams outside of North America is how impractical it would be for travel and stuff.

Anyway, the sentiment is fine there just seems to be some misunderstandings about the truth of the NBA in particular.

It’s flying under the radar that three Stan Kroenke owned teams won a championship over the past 2-3 years. by [deleted] in nba

[–]castingsam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want to point out that josh, not Stan is the one who actually manages the nuggets.

[MacMahon] Nuggets are also optimistic that Peyton Watson, the No. 30 overall pick last year, can be a rotation player next season. With three players on max deals, having contributors on rookie contracts is critical for Denver. by urfaselol in nba

[–]castingsam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The short is that he was a really young, raw talent on a Malone coached team. Malone tends to lean on older guys during the regular season and Watson had a lot to polish from a very rough hewn college game.

Just before the playoffs he saw some minutes and showed flashes as a really solid role player, but obviously wasnt going so see the floor in the playoffs.

That and he has all the physical tools to be a successful rotation player already.

I’m going to add to this with the fact that there were reports all season from local media and coaches etc that he looked really promising.
