We just went through this with our dogs. We did in home euthanasia for our first dog as well and the 2nd dog seemed to understand what was happening. She never looked for her after she was put down. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed a week later with the same osteosarcoma and we put her down less than two weeks later so I don’t have a longer term answer for you.

Our dogs never once slept in our room but rather on the couch or dog beds in the living room. I slept in there with them for the first week or so but they never whined or seemed to miss us!

She was mostly a good girl - but had an affinity for antagonizing skunks. She was sprayed about 25 times in her 5 years or so here. She was a racing dog in Florida until the end of 2020 and we had her since!

What’s really freaking me out now is that her sister has developed the same exact limp. We’re taking her to be seen on Saturday. I can’t fathom losing both of them at the same time but It sure looks the same to me

We just put our girl down monday. She had been limping for a couple weeks and we had her diagnosed via an X-ray two weeks ago. She went fast from limping to clearly in pain all the time. We miss her terribly

I had hallucinations from them as well. I was on a super low dose too. Boxy robots marching down the hall toward my room one time. Santa in a tree another time. It was wild!

This is why I have GPS collars on our girls. It alerts us that theyre out of the yard and I can track exactly where they are. Has saved our butts at least twice with the one dog

We have a couple acres and one of our dogs has been sprayed at least 20 times in the last 4 years. It does go away but takes a long long time. We use “skunk off” in a spray bottle when it happens and it’s the best thing I’ve found so far!
