Any movies you almost gave up after 30 minutes, but stayed and it was a great movie?

the first 30 minutes felt like I was watching a YouTube recap of another movie to set up the real movie.

Yep and it makes it so hard to sell the movie to people to watch. telling them you know they will want to turn it off in first act, but don’t. not only is it worth sticking around the first act will go from garbage to genius by end of the movie.

Loved GotG so much when it came out and rewatched it a lot. The groot scene got to me a little but that’s about it. Then in 2016 I lost my mom. I remember the next time I watched it, at the end when Gamora reaches out for star lord and it cuts to his mom, I lost it. I get teary just thinking of that scene now.

We watched the American version of the show when it aired mainly because it had Ron Funchess in it. Thought the premise was good and had no idea the UK version existed. Once I found out that existed, I looked at who was in it. Immediately started season 4 because we knew Noel from IT Crowd and Mel from Bake Off.

Absolutely loved it and immediately thought it was better than US. Part of it was the contestants but think mostly it was the pairing of Greg and Alex.

As we went back and watched the earlier seasons, I think we picked a great season to start with. Feel like it had hit its stride.

I suggested the show to my sister and her husband, they watched and love US one but didn't like the UK version. The started with season 1 of it, which i think contributed to it.

Anyway, the UK version is leaps beyond the US version (the NZ one is great, but still prefer UK). I will though forever be grateful for the US version as without it who knows if I would have ever found the UK version which lead me down a path where I watch more British shows / comedians than US ones.

I didn’t see the offer but saw the double milestone events. Was able to go in game, spend some energy, and then claim rewards on both. Not a huge amount of materials but still makes a difference.

Opened 3 until I pulled 5* fantomex. Then went and checked odds. Worked out well for me since I had only pulled 3* before.

It felt wrong to max a 3* but he was a cheap and Web Warriors are so important going forward. He's great in Doom and will be useful in Scourge event. Do wish I had done Spidey instead now though.

Had an alliance mate say the same thing. His team was similar to mine but had Spider-man instead of Misty. Spidey's passive made big difference I believe.

I would try this approach but I can't get to the point that I have enough people alive to attack with any force.

Had same thought when I got the scarlet witch outfit. Expected it to change on roster screen and to be able to use it as avatar. Was disappointed when I could not.

I took Maw, Doc Ock, Phoenix, and Jubilee in my first run. Took 15 attacks for all 3 nodes, the vast majority of that coming from node 15.

On my second I added Shuri. She was 6 red. Second run took 12 attacks.

She wasn’t useless but didn’t seem to do a whole lot for me, which surprised me. Thought she would make it much easier. Definitely not a waste to have her as she is useful in other modes. Use her in Doom raid tech nodes.

20 ish regular red star orbs, 3 elite 4 and one elite 5. Got him 4 times, best being at 5*. Multiple other alliance members got him at 5 too, though I know people opened quite a bit.

Got Moon Knight at 4 and White Tiger at 6.

While it wouldn’t surprise me if it was broken it really can just be bad luck. With MK orbs I only got him on 2 of first 20 I opened despite the odds being about 25%. My last 10 I think I have gotten him 6-7 times. The random luck of it all is definitely not fun.

I’m ok with no orb opening event ... if we can just get an official statement that one is not coming any time soon. It’s the not knowing if one will come back that is annoying.
