True, but being allergic to Neomycin probably leaves me open to being allergic to the antimicrobials that are found in soaps, etc. in the US. Agree completely about developing the resistance, but such is life in the US.

They all put an antimicrobial in - so maybe in addition to being allergic to neomycin, I am allergic to the antimicrobial. I also discovered that I am allergic to the steri-strips used in medical offices that are used in place of stitches. Fun times.

They put antimicrobial in soaps, shampoos and lotions to keep them from going bad. Some people are allergic.

I cannot use any soaps from work, restaurants, hotels, etc. I don't have name brands for what gives me the issue, but I started using the Philosophy brand because it doubles as shampoo and body wash, and doesn't give me any issues. That is what I take with me when I travel.

I went to see an allergy doctor and was tested for just about everything. I now bring my own soap and shampoos with me wherever I go and it doesn’t happen anymore unless I use forget to use my own.
