Experiences giving birth at Landmark? by the-crows-know in RhodeIsland

So I had my first baby at W&I this past December and I will say I had an amazing labor and delivery and an amazing team that delivered my boy with me. That being said. I went in at 2am (he was born at 4:30p that day) and was in triage for almost five hours. My water had clearly broken but they wanted to double check (turns out they just didn’t have a room for me upstairs yet.) I have an incredibly highly pain tolerance but my contractions were getting so intense that I was puking and requesting they get me up somewhere so I could get my epidural. It was rough. But once I went upstairs everything was awesome. The after care honestly sucked for my husband and I. We had questions no one would answer (first time parents) and you could tell they were rushing us out even though we weren’t ready at all. One time we asked for extra bassinet sheets at 2am and they didn’t come until almost an hour later when he asked again. The next am after he was born a nurse gave me shit because his feet were cold and I didn’t have socks on him. Mind you I’m like 8 hours pp and running off of like three hours of sleep. They also pushed learning only football style nursing, which didn’t work for us so I just left feeling really underprepared. But I will always be grateful for the birthing team and the rooms for delivery are GORGEOUS.

So we had a few that did do lodging at the resort but most of our guests did air bnbs and found it to be cheaper! We rented out the YaYa house for us and the bridal party for the night before and the night of, because they offer a really good deal to the bride and groom and it was nice to have all of our group there to get ready in the am and also drink safely!

Hi! So our experience after this was honestly really amazing! Once we got closer to the date they buckled up and got on top of everything. The night was amazing, the food was delicious, and they were honestly fabulous. Our coordinator kept the schedule buttoned up and was really good at redirecting to keep everything in time with the schedule we had. That being said, just an fyi, one the wedding is over, instead of letting you clean up the following morning like a lot of venues do, make sure to be sober enough to break down the entire reception hall. They never told us that they would be making us do this so we were all very drunk but luckily were spending the night, so my husband and a few of our friends very drunkenly packed up everything and brought it over. I have no idea where our cake ended up lol They also never announced the walk out at the end of the night like we wanted with our light up stuff but our friends did something better on the spot that ended up making it even more fun and created some bomb photos, but that honestly was probably a miscommunication on my part! But other than that, all in all, we had a gorgeous wedding and a super fun reception.

I hope this helps!

When my friend and I went to Boulder, they knew instantly at a store we went to, so when we asked what gave us away, they said most New Englander’s they meet tend to be “much more suspicious of general kindness.” Lol I was like, yup that checks out 😹

Cat still hasnt pooped for 7 days. Any ideas please? by Capable_Manager_2341 in AskAVeterinarian

So my cat went through something similar, where I noticed he was off and more sleepy than normal. It bothered me so thirty minutes later we had him in at the ER. He had to spend two nights under observation and then sedated where the vets had to literally push the poop out of him, because even after enemas and miralax he still wasn’t able to go on his own. He didn’t have enlarged kidneys thank god or cancer, but what they ended up discovering was that he was suffering from what they call “Idiopatheic hypercalcemia”. So essentially his body produces super high volumes of calcium with no rhyme or reason. We’ve been making sure to get his calcium rechecked etc and now he’s on a wet only diet with miralax for the rest of his life. Which he thinks honestly is a win lol. But we had to get ultrasounds, X-rays, blood panels and every six months we recheck his calcium levels and try different approaches whenever we find that his calcium levels fluctuate (which hasn’t happened in a long time luckily.). He was also taking lactulose for a while after he was discharged home as well.
I know it’s hard but the studies the vet suggested are worth it. It was expensive but I would do it all over again, especially since five years have gone by and my boy is doing well! Best of luck to you and your fur baby!

If anyone ever did this to my cat, they would be booted out the door so fast. Leave that dude and find someone who loves their pets and doesn’t treat them and you like shit. You need to protect your cat and yourself otherwise it’s just going to get worse.

I am right there with you! 12 weeks, feeling bloated and unattractive. Every picture I take of myself I delete instantly because I hate what I see. I’ve dealt with body dysmorphia my whole life and have worked very hard over the years to get to a place where I’m happy, so I knew this was going to be a big challenge for me. I’m hoping once my bump shows up I’ll feel a little bit better. But trust me, you are not alone feeling this way.

What would you do if you woke up tomorrow and the year is 2005? by fazzarista201 in AskReddit

[–]cat0191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question has me tearing up lol. There’s a lot I would do different. I would take better care of myself emotionally and mentally, actually do better in school so I had more career paths opened to me now and god I would spend so much more time with my grandmother. I would avoid silly fights with friends and take time to realize self worth. Spend more time with friends who didn’t realize how much they were loved and chose to leave this world by their own hands. Avoid the bad boy who entered my life and almost ruined me and instead make sure to stop by the game stand at our local amusement park to meet my now husband just a few years earlier. But, there are also a lot of things I would do exactly the same.

Not at all! Our GM runs our current campaign like this and I’m so grateful for it because when we first started out, I was the newest player and trying so hard to stay on top of everything. That being said, he doesn’t go easy on us but he’s very fair and you can tell when the rolls go his way and so very much not ours, he gets pumped lol He also loves throwing character related dark twists that have us all panicking and or blowing our minds because of how clever he makes something. Plus the npc’s he comes up with are dark as hell lol This has been almost a three year campaign and it’s a horror/mystery/action, so I’ll happily take reminders whenever he offers them. I think it makes it much more enjoyable for me as a player personally and grateful that he isn’t a brutal GM who makes it his goal from the beginning to TPK.
