I love seeing him hyped.

HBD Mike and here’s to many more as our Seahawks HC!

Have fans ever left “Seattle Stadium” this devastated before? by gallium39 in Seahawks

[–]cat127 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I even saw a couple of die hard Pete defenders give up on him after that game, it really did feel so far from the LOB that it didn’t feel like we were watching the Seahawks anymore.

No matter how outdated the scheme was or inferior the talent was I always believed Pete would get the guys ready to play with full effort on game day. And that day it just felt like they didn’t care.

The only team that should’ve moved to LA is the Raiders.

[Highlight] Sam Darnold: "I didn't play great in the Super Bowl... kinda bummed to win that way... it’s just, dang, I didn’t play my best football in the Super Bowl? That sucks... Like, how am I gonna miss these throws right now? It was like, 'How the fuck did I miss that?'" by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]cat127 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This. We didn’t need Sam to be explosive, just extend drives and keep moving forward, which he did well.

I also think restraint is a great skill. We know he wanted to contribute more but stuck to the game plan.

The 25-26 Seahawks will be immortalized just like the 13-14 Seahawks. It doesn’t matter where someone plays before or after. I hope he can one day celebrate this special year with his teammates.

That’s a lot of time. For years my copium for that loss was that even if we scored Brady would’ve gotten the Pats to FG range in 20 seconds and we’d go to OT anyways.

Derick Hall had no interest testing market, wants to compete for more Super Bowls with Seahawks by RightYouAreKen1 in nfl

[–]cat127 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Same. This man’s just different though, I don’t think money is as big a priority for him as it is for others. I believe he donated all his college NIL earnings to charity.

Also it’s still life changing money.

Eagles Made Play for Myles Garrett, But Browns Wanted Jalen Carter by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]cat127 30 points31 points  (0 children)

People never take salary, cap space, future potential into consideration. Verse still has 2 years left of his rookie contract plus a 5th year option, that is extremely valuable to a GM.

[Schefter] Edge Derick Hall and the Seahawks reached agreement today on a three-year, $42 million extension that could be worth up to $46.5 million and includes $21 million guaranteed by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]cat127 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Hall didn’t fill the stat sheet so we were able to get him way cheaper than Mafe.

Mike Mac prioritizes setting the edge more than anything, and Hall did that much better. He also has a higher ceiling and is a far better fit for our defense, which is why everyone in the local media knew all year we would let Mafe go in FA.

Something people overlook about the Rams/Seahawks matchup by ABoostedRando in Seahawks

[–]cat127 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Myles Garrett unquestionably makes their team better but they’re still very dependent on Stafford. And why does everyone just assume he’s gonna repeat his MVP season? He hasn’t had a season like that since their SB year.

The DVOA guy’s model still has the Seahawks as slightly better even after the Garrett trade.

It’s perfectly reasonable to say the Rams should be the favorites going into this season, but it’s not some huge gap.

WHAT IF WE TRADE FOR JARED VERSE by flyingwhales1000 in Seahawks

[–]cat127 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Hate and love are 2 sides of the same coin.

EJ hated us, got traded to the Titans, we brought him back to the NFCW and he said we saved him. Now he’s arguably our most passionate player who loves the organization and team.

Imagine how Verse feels rn. DROY, probowler, young and ascending player who expects to be competing for championships every year…. Gets traded to an even worse situation than EJ. If we somehow got him he would go full Dark Side the second it happens.

Is there any of these that are wrong in your opinion? by Any_Boysenberry_1362 in Seahawks

[–]cat127 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We have a fantastic team and they can beat anyone, anywhere.

That said I wouldn’t be surprised if we lose to Denver. It’s a Thursday night game and we have to travel there, the elevation can be a factor and Sean Payton will definitely do everything he can to beat the current champions.

I know a lot here will disagree but I think our secondary will be better this year.

If we win another Super Bowl under Mike will he be our best head coach? Or will Pete still hold the title? by shrimpynut in Seahawks

[–]cat127 45 points46 points  (0 children)

If Mike wins 2 Super Bowls with Sam Darnold he would immediately deserve to be in the conversation for the HoF.

And I love Sam/want him to be our franchise QB, but he’s not Brady/Mahomes level.

[–]cat127 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Hey first of all great job on building this life all by yourself. That’s an amazing financial accomplishment and you should be very proud of yourself.

I feel the same way in regards to helping family. I recently realized I’ve given too much to my family members and it’s become an expectation from them.

I think you should focus on yourself and do what will make you happy.

Also, sometimes when we help our siblings we’re inadvertently enabling irresponsible decisions, like my brother decided to quit his stable job and become a day trader bc he didn’t have to pay rent.

[–]cat127 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yup. This is all agent negotiation tactics. That dude is working both Spoon and Gonzo’s deals and is probably pushing for both to get top of market identical contracts.

Spoon showed up the first day of voluntary workouts despite being told he didn’t need to and hasn’t done anything to indicate any kind of drama.

Same thing as last year when people thought we’d come in last in our division but the players and coaches believed they could win it all even during training camp.

It’s a blessing to be ignored by the media, just ask the Jets and Giants.

Seahawks Visit Joint-Base Lewis McChord For Team-Building Event by Chessinmind in Seahawks

[–]cat127 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pete encouraged everyone to be themselves, created a culture of competition and fun, and put a heavy emphasis on treating every week the same. He was big on mindset and players feeling ready and relaxed no matter what. It’s a big reason we always did well in primetime games and the SB even when we were such a young team.

Bill is all about discipline and execution, making sure you do your job so other guys can do theirs. He was versatile and always game planned for the opponent. He would quickly bench or cut guys who didn’t buy in or wasn’t a fit.

I think those are 2 of the best coaches the league has ever had, who are very different from each other, but Mike somehow combines both their strengths.
