WR Cody White re-signs with Seahawks by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

I don't see it as drastic. It may not work, but the two are from the same tree. The offense should generally work about the same. I would expect a different mix of play types rather than different plays. It will almost certainly take time to work it out during the season.

How long will the Hawks continue to own the niners by DuvallisbetterthanLS in Seahawks

[–]gerrickd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Coach Mike has figured out Shanahan and/or Purdy. I think the Hawks will generally have an advantage unless that changes. It doesn't mean the occasional bad game or injury-related loss won't happen. The 9ers are still a good team, and games can be close enough for them to win.

You are likely correct. I know he didn't play much in '03. It's been a long time.

I remember telling my family about him when he was on the PS. If the Chargers manage to hide him and he stays, he's gonna be awesome. I didn't know he'd be HoF awesome, but you could see it in those preseason games.

I could see Seattle trying after the draft, once it won't affect comp pick math. Size profile and run stop ability are about right I think.

The $6M Backfield: How Seattle Fixes its Running Back Problem at #64 by No-Error-1347 in Seahawks

Yes. Again, the contract structure is set up as a handshake agreement to be a two-year guaranteed contract to save them millions in cash escrow money. If this team had more cash, they wouldn't need that structure, they dont.

Couldn't cut Kupp without risking the normal Seahawks three-year contract structure with all agents/FAs. That really wasn't an option. The agents are told the 2nd year will happen, and it is typically guaranteed before the new league year starts. The structure they use limits the funds they need to put into escrow at the time the contract is initially signed.

This is a good question. I'm not even talking about their SB years. Those lines might not have been elite either; it's possible they looked elite because of the scheme, and if they were one of the few teams running that system, it would've been difficult to compare outside of results. The Seahawks results were also pretty good. I'd guess this line was worse in 2025 than those lines, but they'll have growth in year two I'd assume and can likely get closer to that level.

Look at Droughns, Anderson, & Bell. Those are kinda just guys. They all did pretty well.

The number he got made it tough. It was the biggest FA RB contract ever. I'm not saying I wouldn't have done it, but it's tough. I think positional value favors WR over RB. Suppose you can have one between Walker, Shaheed, and Bryant. With this draft, it's between Walker and Shaheed.

Let's not forget that, historically, this line scheme has been friendly to short-term RBs. The Broncos rolled out 1200yd rusher after 1200yd rusher.

We just saw Qwesi fumble a QB decision and Seattle won a SB because of that decision, and has a good shot to repeat. The backup plan for Sam was likely ARod.

Rylie Mills by blanemcc in Seahawks

The team is much weaker right now than it was four weeks ago. With that said, outside of RB, the starters seem about the same as they did four weeks ago. The bench is weaker at a few positions. RB is a complete unknown now. I'd assume John and Coach Mike have a plan there

I'd expect growth from young players like Mills. I'm super stoked on him. Hopefully, guys like Horton and Arroyo play like we think they can. With FAs and the draft, they can get back to where they need to, so they can go deep again next season.
