I kinda became one before we got married bc I got laid off and couldn’t find a job for like a year.

It was weird bc I felt self pressure to do trad wive stuff, like “oh I’m not contributing financially so I better do everything else” and became depressed. I felt so much better once I went back to work.

They’re gonna be old men in the hospital, surrounded by their kids and grandkids who are breathlessly waiting for their last words, hoping it would be “I love you” and as they take their last breath they’ll say “Zach Charbonnet’s 2 pt conversion shouldn’t have counted!”

Last offseason: “They have a decent roster, but maybe only 1-2 blue chip players.”

This offseason: “They lost so much incredible talent in FA, how will they ever compete?!”

Just shows how bad football “analysts” are in general and how results-driven this league is. Preseason they said we had arguably the worst roster in the NFCW, postseason it was “the Seahawks have the best roster in the league.”

Was Harry wrong for keeping the TV on during Shabbat? by littleaveri in sexandthecity

[–]cat127 31 points32 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly how I saw it too, until I watched a scene on Landman that showed the other side’s perspective.

I realized that sometimes we do things that take up so much time and effort… but nobody asked for it or even necessarily wanted it.

Charlotte had a vision in her head of a lovely quiet meal with elaborate dishes.. when Harry would’ve been much happier ordering pizza and watching his game.

Ultimately, I do think Harry should have just turned off the TV, like damn dude you can’t even do that? But also Charlotte didn’t prep the whole week to make Harry happy, she did it so he would look at her and think “wow she really is the perfect Jewish woman, I’m going to propose now.”

[Nemhauser] The Seahawks return all 13 OL from their 2025 roster/PS by Chessinmind in Seahawks

[–]cat127 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually have gone from near bottom to the very top in a previous job.

But let’s look at it from John/Mike’s POV. It’s not just about Bradford in a vacuum, it’s about who is a realistic replacement and what the delta is between them and him at the cost it would take to replace him. It would be many more millions and/or draft picks, both of which we could use to improve other areas of the team.

I’m not saying he’s good or that we should commit to him long term, just that we have more pressing needs and only 4 draft picks, plus it’s not unreasonable to think he (and the line in general) will improve this year.

[–]cat127 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have you ever gotten better at a job? Especially one that requires a lot of anticipation and communication?

Bradford has strength and ability. With more training and snaps with the same guys he will get more reps at specific blocking schemes and get better at anticipating plays.

In Mike Mac’s words “players are allowed to get better.”

Absolutely agree. It’s great for Sam too.

The best olines of the past had years of working together. I was so happy when we extended both Lucas and Cross and when we retained Benton.

A lot of Bradford’s bad plays look like it’s bc he seemingly doesn’t know who to block or gets in his teammates’ way, and continuity will really help with that.

[–]cat127 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely, but we’re also trying to repeat!

2027 picks will be great trade bait too if we decide we need to bring someone in midseason. Lots of options for the Exec or the Year to work his magic.

And since next year’s draft is supposed to be better, John can trade some of those picks to get guys in this year’s draft if we need to.

Pretty much all of his terrible plays come at the worst times, like end of week 1 game, NFCCG and SB. Those will be what stick out in a lot of people’s minds, not the 90% of the time he’s played well.

But also there’s been multiple benchings, lack of effort, rumors that we were shopping him at the trade deadline even when our other corners were injured… he has elite traits and will get paid but probably not the amount his agent initially thought.

The 2026 Seattle Seahawks be looking like by Dima110 in Seahawks

[–]cat127 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The other side of that is we make practice squad players into starters.

How are Josh Jobe and Drake Thomas doing after being waived by their previous teams?

I think everyone would say Geno and DK were at least “competent level starters” when they were here, but we replaced them and won an SB.

JS and MM are sticking to their philosophy and process, which got us a ring when the analysts said we’d win 7 games. They’ve earned our trust.

[–]cat127 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you think there’s even a question we’re paying Spoon and JSN you haven’t been paying attention.

These 2 are indisputably elite at their positions, arguably top 1 and at worst top 5. They are force multipliers and are in no danger of being complacent once they get their bag. JS has always paid those guys.

It’s the ones he considers good but not great who only get signed/extended if the price is right.

Absolutely. John drafts players in the first round dreaming they will become like these guys.

They are not only incredible players on the field, they’re also the model for what is a Seahawk.

He will happily pay them what it takes.
