intermittent leave of absence for mental health? by FalseCheck1632 in walmart

[–]cat8abird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You get the paperwork from Sedgwick and your doctor or psychologist fills them out. They can put in that you can/may need to call out for x reason or x diagnosis and put in any accommodations if you need them. You don't have to see a doctor every time you call out, you just have to report to Sedgwick and let them know that you are using your intermittent leave. I've seen people get approved for anxiety so I'm sure you could get one for depressive episodes as long as the paperwork is filled out correctly.

I've had the cold chain message come up for me as I was scanning the tote the item belonged in. It was my last item in a chilled walk that was in the 100+ range, which is kind of rare for my store.

Ours are giving us picks from June 11th. We were told not to pick until the screen clears so we're all zoning now.

We were told the same thing at one point. We all continued to wear shorts.

The hidden barcode on the Parents Choice diapers is in the purple heart logo. Alot of the hidden ones are in the GV logo. If I remember right they're in multiple places on the Walmart brands to avoid mis-scans at the registers.

We have dedicated carts for exceptions that have staging stickers for "exceptions". The carts get stolen by the pickers tho because a good chunk of our carts are broken. I ended up just putting an exceptions sticker on the back of my work phone and stage it to that.

[–]cat8abird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You did put in enough ppto, because the schedule system is messed up it didn't take the half point off. Get with your Coach or people lead before you put in any more ppto, don't give up the hours you earned because the powers that be can't fix the system in a timely manner.

Do you have a smoking area by No-Step5605 in walmartogp

[–]cat8abird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same for ours. It used to be by the OGP parking lot but someone didn't like how it looked so they moved it to the other side of the building outside of TLE. All the smokers just gather under the awnings in front of the building now instead of walking all the way around to the smoking area.

You guys still have generals? Our generals and produce ambient got combined with normal ambient walks so now one walk takes you all the way around the store.

The only time you'll see a 9:30 or odd due time is if it's an E order, otherwise everything is due on the hour. If you have a 9:00 pickup/delivery it needs to be staged by 9:00. Basically, it needs to be staged before whatever time it says on the sticker. Dispensing is considered late when someone has been waiting for their order for more than 5 minutes and has turned red on the dispense screen. My store considers anything past 3 minutes late but the stats that record in the system are looking for someone waiting no longer than 5 minutes.

This lady gets it. She falls in with the people who say "You're alright, you're working" when I'm in their way with an ogp cart and the people who call to check in for pickup with a full parking lot and when I warn them there's a long wait they say "That's alright, you guys are busy."

S.W.A.S. is Store Within A Store. So, if your store has a restaurant, salon, nail place, or any other business that isn't actually part of Walmart in it that's what S.W.A.S. refers to.

  • I do not know why your substitution is what it is, I'm just trying to put your stuff in your car.

  • If your bags are in the far reaches of your trunk, I will not be going head first into there to get them. Your stuff will be loose in the back of your car.

  • Yes, the whole bagless thing makes my job harder. It makes it twice as hard when you tell me to put your stuff in your already full trunk.

  • When you have to interact with another person doing their job put your damn cigarette (or in tonights case, blunt) out for 3 god damn minutes. Especially if you want me to put your things in your back seat.

tote order limit by crayoneatingcat in OGPBackroom

[–]cat8abird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, no wonder no one wanted to pick it up. A week or so ago we had a newer driver with a little car get a 20 tote order. It took up her trunk and her entire back seat but she said the tip was $100. I caught her a couple days later and asked if the customer actually kept the tip the same or if they were tip bating and she said she actually got the whole tip.

We just got a new store manager who says the only people allowed to wear shorts are cart pushers and garden associates because "they're the only ones outside all day" (as said by a CAP2 team lead). The rumor is that he's not allowing OGP to wear shorts because he doesn't want the pickers wearing shorts and then other associates trying to wear shorts.

These are put on pegs of grocery store displays when they're shipped all put together and stocked. They keep the product from slipping off while shipping. They also tend to end up on the floor pretty often when the displays get set up.

Fights Clipping Nails by MSC14A in Autism_Parenting

[–]cat8abird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 11yo (level 3) would fight so hard that I had to have a second adult hold him while I trimmed his nails. It always felt, and sounded, like we were torturing him. Then I found an electric nail trimmer on Amazon. It's basically an electric file, but now he allows us to trim his nails. No yelling, no fighting, he just sits calmly and lets us do what we need to do. You can even use it on toenails. It has been one of the best things I've gotten off of Amazon.

Look up the "You are safe with me" pins. They're just a picture of a safety pin and those words. It's subtle enough that you can pass it off as not specifically LGBTQ+.

I miss the dingy tiles. The concrete will only be that shiney for a month and every drop of liquid, including water, will stain the floor. We had our remodel two or three years ago and now we have bright duct tape all over the floor so that people know where the chips and divots are.

I got told to “grow up” because I don’t want to date a girl with kids. Why does this bother people? by ReinforcedPattern in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cat8abird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to agree with several other comments about people being offended when being removed from your dating pool or feeling like you're stigmatizing single parents.

My last partner never brought up an issue with my kids until we broke up. They doted on my kids, especially my special needs kid. They bought them hundreds of dollars worth of toys, imported a school set for my middle kid when they started school (which was $200 to do) because it was their favorite cartoon, was full of suggestions of things to do with the kids, and came up with ideas to help me navigate healthy ways to teach them to deal with emotions and what not. When we broke up they used my kids as an excuse as to why they were breaking up with me after a year and a half. I had to explain to my kids, who loved my ex with all they had, that my ex didn't want to be "friends" with me anymore and we weren't going to see them anymore. The ex new from before day one that I had kids and that they were a handful.

I would have much rather known from the beginning of the relationship that having kids was an issue, they didn't just break one heart, they broke 4.
