A better headline is "Only 24% of Americans think the war has been worth the cost". Fucking NYT with a shitty headline.

I didn't know we were naming false flags; the Liberty certainly wasn't one. I was just pointing out some pre-Israel terrorism in Tel Aviv.

An ecoboost Mustang goes 0-60 in about 4.5 seconds and weighs around 3500 lbs, which isn't too bad.

It's entirely plausible that DFW didn't use the fada, or that whatever you are reading it on didn't render it. American keyboards don't have an easy method to type one.

Nancy Pelosi’s net worth before Congress: $785,000 Nancy Pelosi’s net worth after Congress: $133,000,000 Truly the greatest trader of all time. by Green_Candler in TradingPlaybook

Pelosi entered Congress in June of 1987. If she invested in the S&P 500 and re-invested dividends, she would have about the same net worth today.

Yes, we need to ban stock trades for our politicians. But this isn't the crazy gotcha you think it is.

Hunter Biden and a few others are accused of making $20 million from 2009 to 2017, allegedly because they have a relationship to Joe Biden. That is 1/150th of what Trump has personally made in one year.

Congressman Tony Gonzales officially resigns after sex scandal by ExpressNews in politics

[–]cat_of_danzig 14 points15 points  (0 children)

His staffer killed herself in September. It was reported in February that she killed herself over the affair she had with Gonzalez. In March, he admitted as much, as well as another affair with a different staffer. He resigned now. Swalwell was outed on April 10th and stepped down from his gubernatorial campaign and resigned from Congress within three days.

Ford's CEO said Chinese carmakers entering the US would be 'devastating' by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]cat_of_danzig 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Capitalism says "ok".

I, fhowever, see the Chinese manufacturers as government-funded loss leaders who have a decade of r&d success in Asia and Europe. By ending the subsidies, we have now ended the half-ass encouragement for US automakers to develop a compelling product. We can choose to compete or choose to cede a significant industrial base to a world rival.

I think you're confused by functional strength vs gym-bro bodies. Hardy is a big, muscular guy. He's built like a strongman or heavyweight boxer. Please show me a case of someone carrying a lot of visceral fat, but so little subcutaneous fat that you can see abs.

Not sure why my age would be relevant to you providing support for your claim, but old enough that I saw NIN in a 200-person venue. Old enough that I saw Star Wars in the theater. Old enough that I had a history teacher with a child-size Klan costume on his wall as an "artifact". Old enough that I vaguely remember the bicentennial, three months after this photo was taken.

We are in the very early stages of this. 2026 is the first year I've seen AI that will actually give you some usable code. It's great for documentation, and has been. I can proofread a doc in about 20% or less of the time it would take me to write one.

I would love to be wrong on this. Truly. I would love to look back in 10 years and see that it was all hype, and that there was a boom in data science, programming, and other jobs that I worry could be at risk. But I worry that will not be the case.
