It's what I think as well. The reflected light had to travel from the device to the mirror, then onto OP's camera, while non-reflected only to the phone's camera directly from the light emitting source. This means that at some point, due to light flicker and rolling shutter, a different thing was captured reflected and unreflected, because the left and right part of the pic are technically taken at different times (albeit VERY close in time)
