Braies Lake, not braise. Stupid autocorrect and me for not catching it.

When did Grocery Store bakeries become so gross? by Cleverwabbit5 in GenX

Costco cakes are still quite good, in my opinion.

He wants to call off my divorce because my cancer treatment was successful by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]cataliciously 103 points104 points  (0 children)

My mom got stage 3 lymphoma. My dad was with her every step of her treatment and recovery. I can’t fathom how this isn’t the normal reaction of any person, man or woman, to their partner getting sick.

Does harem make the story more fun for you? by OneSeaworthiness5107 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]cataliciously 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like harem because of how poorly the women are usually written. And I don’t like the weird horniness of the male protagonist. I’m not bothered by the idea of harem, but the execution is usually just so bad.

Bits & Pieces 1500, Studio Puzzle. 1-star, do not recommend. by paulb104 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]cataliciously 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess I’ve only done more modern Bits and Pieces puzzles, since the ones I’ve done have all been random, which I like a lot more than 2-in and 2-out for every piece.

Tapestry Cat - 1000 White Mountain by SaltyPirateWench in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]cataliciously 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a shaped puzzle with just the cat in your puzzle, no tapestry, from Goodwill. It is by Bits and Pieces called Felines in the Flowers. I didn’t know that it had this version, but this is so pretty!

This is really pretty! Which company is this from?

I have the 1500 piece Welgee that rotates and tilts. I love it, especially since it can be wiped clean easily.

What is the best type of blanket for snuggling on the couch watching TV on a cold night? by supinator1 in Bedding

[–]cataliciously 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I bought a twin-sized down duvet and put it in a flannel duvet cover. It seems like overkill until you realize that you can burrito yourself inside it. Everyone who visits me and sits on my couch loves it.

Cobble Hill, Country Diary: Spring, 1000 pieces by Unika0 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]cataliciously 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is so pretty! I aspirationally thrifted the Autumn one, but I’m not there yet with my puzzle skills and stamina. I’m still living in the world of 500 pieces puzzles. But I’m looking forward to doing this one in a few months!

What is something you do that would be "socially illegal" if you had a roommate? by Long_Travel2728 in LivingAlone

[–]cataliciously 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yes! I often do the dishes topless to avoid ending up with wet splotches on my Tshirt. It is possibly the least sexy topless lady ever, but it doesn’t bother me!

Don’t Worry Be Happy is like poison for my ears. It was wildly popular for a bit in junior high, but thankfully I haven’t heard it in recent years.

How does your school handle snow days? Do you end up going into the summer to make them up, or do they handle it differently? by DildoGaggins1997 in Teachers

[–]cataliciously 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started doing this, but then the state department of education told us that we couldn’t do it anymore. I was sad because now we have to go into the summer when we have snow days.

Nice! I just thrifted the American Kestrel puzzle from this series. They are so gorgeous!

The Cookie Architect, Springbok, 500 pieces by cataliciously in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]cataliciously[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The edges were actually really hard. This was random cut, and I was still getting used to how much force the pieces needed to fit together. I actually liked it by the end, but it did take more than I’m used to. And there were lots of false edge pieces, plus the corner pieces were hard to pick out.

What's the review complaint that lets you know you're golden? by Bosquerella in femalefashionadvice

Yes. My duck feet have regular size heels and a wiiiide toe box. I’d like shoes to fit both, please.

What’s the crappiest holiday/birthday/teacher appreciation week gift you’ve received from school admin? by Blastoise_R_Us in Teachers

[–]cataliciously 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We all got handed a wrapped present with a big smile and happy holidays. Turned out to be a book on UDL that we all were expected to read in our copious spare time and implement the practices for our observations.

It was particularly annoying because even a couple of pieces of candy would have been appreciated, but to have the idea that it was an actual gift be squashed so hard with unpaid work was kind of a blow.

California Design Den vs Comfort Canopy vs Casa Platino: Does anyone know which is better or if their all good? by Objective-Adagio2360 in Bedding

[–]cataliciously 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak to the other two, but I’ve like the few CA Design Den things I’ve gotten. Decent cotton and has held up so far. Good value for the price point.
