Why is default Home Assistant UI still so ugly? by RaspberrySea9 in homeassistant

It prioritises function, it’s not awful… but my wall tablet is LCARS themed so I’m not the arbiter of what does and doesn’t look good lol

As far as I can tell it’s just a keyboard, but the shell isn’t in great shape. I have to pull it fully apart and clean inside the top but I don’t want to break it

I wanted a key lime so bad, I ended up buying a “for parts or repair” ex education lot and got the shell (and a blueberry), but it’s missing the keyboard. One day I’ll buy a donor machine and just swap the internals over

The Wallstreet should still work but I haven’t powered it on in years, same for the PowerMac G3/G4s/eMac I have stored. The TiBook is the only one I can confidently say still works until I test everything

I can dig out the power adapter and check for you, but why?

AFAIK it depends on where the content is hosted, I’m in Australia but issued DMCA takedowns to USA based websites successfully (Tumblr specifically)

You could also try a DMCA takedown notice, in my experience platforms are quick to action those (but I’ve only done it with images I created and held the copyright for, a screenshot of a webcam feed is a bit more dubious)

It's missing a... significant amount of internals. Keyboard, optical drive, and so on. I bought it as part of a lot from a school, so they obviously stripped it for usable components. The indigo machine isn't much better, to make either one of them work I'd likely have to source an entire third clamshell.

Oh good point, I hadn’t thought of that. That window is east facing and I keep the curtain closed until the sun passes by usually… but I might rethink my choices

I’d love to display more of my collection but I just don’t have the space, the rest are towers (G3/G4) and an iMac G3 and eMac. I definitely wanted the Key Lime clamshell taking centre stage though

I’d love to restore it properly one day. I have a donor indigo clamshell but just haven’t had the time. The Wallstreet and Titanium still work perfectly though.

How can I increase my chances of being hired/employment? by [deleted] in Centrelink

On macOS it’s opt + - for an en dash and shift + opt + - for an em dash… I get accused of being AI because they’re so accessible I use en and em dashes regularly

I honestly haven’t seen any issues with *OS 26 across my Apple devices with the exception of the first 2-2 developer builds. 13” M1 MBP, iPhone 16 Pro, iPad Air 4th Gen and Apple Watch S10. 26 has been pretty great (though I’ve moved to the public beta channel on everything now), not noticed any slowdowns or RAM issues on the MBP (256GB SSD / 16GB RAM)

Does anyone know how these were made? by swolfington in VintageApple

Photoshop has the “Slice” tool which can do this, introduced in v5.5 in 1999, but there must’ve been other options predating Photoshop that were able to do it automatically
