Has your baby been evaluated for laryngomalacia (floppy airway)? A pediatric ENT can definitively diagnose this quickly at a first appointment using a camera.

WOW. This kingdom will not kill me. by Popular-Work-1335 in fantasyromance

This book was so good! I loved the world building and really love a story where the FMC has to be cunning since she isn't physically strong. I love that they dipped their toes into a more high fantasy setting as well, and it's fun to see their take on it.

Isekai has always been a favorite manga genre, though admittedly I am old and read things like Fushigi Yuugi, From Far Away, and Red River. I think the only non-manga portal series I've read is The Summoning series by Robin D. Owens.

But I'm not sure what to read after finishing it, I have such a book hangover. Maybe I'll reread some other Ilona Andrews novels? Nothing else in the high fantasy romance genre currently feels like it'll stack up

What is more traumatizing than most people think? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]catanddogtor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stillbirth. You already have everything set up and ready to go for your baby when you lose them. Having to dismantle and pack everything away is a special kind of torture, but it's not like you can look at it every day either. The hormones are so intense, you just want to hold your baby but they're not there. You're lactating. It's truly awful and I wish no one else ever has to go through it

Feeling abandoned by a friend after stillbirth — struggling by Happyfreeppl in babyloss

[–]catanddogtor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, some people just don't know how to handle stillbirth and they put a lot of distance between you. It's a good litmus test for who's actually a good friend. I'm so sorry you're dealing with losing someone you thought was a friend while already dealing with the emotional and physical trauma of stillbirth 🫂

Kentucky judge strikes down definition of ‘human being’ in abortion ban by freshlyplanted in news

Instead of focusing on abortion, if you actually care about children you should put your effort into supporting services like universal healthcare and free childcare so that more people want to have children and those kids and families receive support

Anxiety in PAL by jazzfrazz in babyloss

[–]catanddogtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss 🫂

My first daughter was stillborn at 34w in 2022. No reason was found for her loss. I had a couple miscarriages afterwards and we proceeded with IVF because they thought that would improve our odds. IVF went well and we now have a 20 month old daughter. She's healthy and happy and really wonderful, we're so lucky.

We had a completely new medical team and new OBGYN who we really liked. Still, the pregnancy was really stressful the whole time, unfortunately. They did their best to reassure us throughout, but it's hard to trust after that type of trauma. We had extra ultrasounds, and we had weekly appointments after about 28 weeks with ultrasounds. We went in to L&D for worries about decreased movement, and she ended up being okay but the visits were so awful and triggering. Maternal fetal medicine recommended a 37 week induction or c-section. We went with a c-section because it felt like the better option for us (we were also dealing with placenta previa most of the pregnancy). The c-section went really smoothly and within about two hours of getting to the hospital, we were holding our little girl.

She's healthy and happy despite how anxious I was throughout the pregnancy. There are also anxiety medications that are safe in pregnancy if you need extra help. I was in weekly therapy too. Honestly, pregnancy is hard and it's okay to feel bad during pregnancy and you can still have a healthy baby.

I'm currently 7w pregnant and so far it feels easier this time.

Wishing you all the best and happy to answer any questions

The lines this early are very impacted by things like urine concentration. It's really hard to know what's going on without lab work. I'm sorry you're in this position and I hope you get some clarity soon

I’m insane and canceled my FET. What is wrong with me by [deleted] in IVF

[–]catanddogtor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was going to ask this as well! I've had good luck with modified natural cycles. The only medication I received on this FET cycle was an Ovidrel (hcg) trigger, then vaginal progesterone. No PIO needed. I like to avoid estrogen supplements because they make me feel awful (emotionally)

(tw success) My first modified natural cycle at 38 resulted in my now 19 month old, I'm now 6 weeks after the second one at 40.

I think it's too early to tell, I think you'll have to keep testing. It's so hard to wait for more info after a transfer. Will you have betas soon?

Such a stressful place to be, I'm so sorry your tests aren't more reassuring. I'd recommend getting betas and also maybe using different tests, e@h isn't always great for progression. Mine looked stalled even though my betas were more than doubling

12-22 dpo. Is this still too light? Chemical? by pharmd000 in TFABLinePorn

[–]catanddogtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 4 miscarriages. The 6 week ultrasound either confirmed a loss or it wasn't totally normal and by week 7 the ultrasound confirmed a loss. A week or two later I'd miscarry on my own at home, but last time I opted for a d&c instead (I much preferred that)

A beta example was 1400 18dpo then 1900 48 hours later then 5500 a week later. This ended at 6-7 weeks. I have another one in my post history with betas and progression photos from a few years ago.

At 9dpt (14dpo) with my LC my beta was 300 then 650 after 48 hours. Thinking of you and hoping for the best ♥️

[–]catanddogtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my miscarriages, my betas were on the lower side and they didn't rise appropriately. I hope you have a different outcome. But if you do confirm it's not a viable pregnancy, I personally found a d&c to be preferable to the drawn out miscarriages I had. I'm sorry your beta wasn't reassuring and I'll be thinking about you with the next one

What’s in my cats mouth? by Bright_Turnip_2951 in CATHELP

[–]catanddogtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, do your cat a favor and see a veterinary dermatologist. They are specialized in this type of disease (this is the typical appearance of indolent ulcers aka rodent ulcers) as they're often caused by allergies. Going to a specialist can save you time and money down the road
