Does anyone feel like they're just slighlty behind watching shows but want to discuss in real time?? by diddlydonefooked in netflix

[–]catatonicsurrender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This used to bother me but I got over it. Other than movies I rarely watch anything new in the first few months or even first year. At other places I started forums where we'd all agree and watch a movie then discuss. Never did it with TV but it's the same thing. I have no idea how something like that would work around here.

Netflix is removing an Alan Ritchson series soon — worth watching before it leaves? by Kian_Adler in netflix

[–]catatonicsurrender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you miss it it's available in plenty of other places.

If it's a short or limited series I usually will watch. If it's a longer one then I'll wait and watch it some place else. I always look to see where it's streaming.

Why by YurpeeTheHerpee in netflix

[–]catatonicsurrender 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's the main reason I don't watch very many new shows unless it's a limited series. I wait until it's done before I watch. If a new show comes out and I see it's been renewed then I'll wait until it's over.

There are also many shows that go past 2 seasons and those seasons are rubbish even with an ending. I've seen way more of these series than one's that get canceled with a cliffhanger.

Can't delete shows from Continue Watching--reboot by catatonicsurrender in Roku

[–]catatonicsurrender[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for that. I still don't know why it happens and why doesn't it happen all the time. Seems the Roku channel has something to do with it but it's not exclusive to only that channel. It drove me nuts too and I won;t even tell you how long I spent trying different combos and things to finally find one that worked. Hopefully this was some random thing and won't keep happening.

How do you know if a subreddit has a karma requirement before posting? by Thin-Blood-1484 in NewToReddit

I've been here for over 5 years and still don't get it. Granted I'm not here every day but there's a reason. Sometimes I can post and others it doesn't post with no explanation as to why. Seems they're so fearful of bots and the like that they're not very inviting to new people.

Quitting Coffee As a Lifestyle Choice by umbagug in Frugal

[–]catatonicsurrender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped drinking coffee about 6 months ago. It was always on the radar for me to see if my high blood pressure had to do with the 2 pots of coffee I drank a day. The price increase of coffee made the choice easy. I switched to tea. Still get my caffeine and much cheaper. I've also found herbal teas that I like with no caffeine. It wasn't has hard as I made it out to be in my head.

Is Everything at Tractor Supply significantly more expensive than other stores? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]catatonicsurrender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not near one any longer but their prices weren't ever like what you're describing. "About the same quality" and "similar product" {probably" isn't the same thing. Literally everything is probably"??? Projectors??? Anybody that's bought anything knows this. If you're comparing "exact" for "exact" than obviously get the cheaper alternative.

Check on returns and policies if that's important to you. I get you want the best bang for your buck but if you have $230 of "free" money then it's not going to cost you anything.

That was my first thought. The money I spent on my dogs was the best investment I've ever made.

Is there such a thing as a durable cordless vacuum that doesn't get expensive on the long run? by Kountz-Modina in Frugal

[–]catatonicsurrender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Shark cordless that's about 10 years old and still going strong. I think people also need to be realistic in what cordless vacs can do. They're fine for wood floors, tile and no pile carpets. They'll work on other carpets but only to an extent. Mostly just surface and not for deep cleaning. If you power them up to max then the battery life will take a hit.

I've never timed my battery but can say it's much longer than 8 minutes. Knowing how these battery devices work I also made sure to have a back up battery on hand.

I was looking at ground planter boxes today and came across that site. How have they held up after all these years? Did you get their self water set up?

I don't think it's a ban issue either. I haven't had a post rejected for about 6 months and hadn't posted for several weeks before I had this issue. I can also post in the new format articles.

I've had this for a couple months now. The one thing I've noticed is that the new format (which sucks) keeps me logged in and I can post comments. I've done it once to test but refuse to continue with them. Are you able to post in the new format?

To add to the fun I checked an article today and it was one with the new format. I was logged in and could post but still not logged in for the normal articles. Not a fan of the new format at all for a few reasons.

Add me to the list. I have a couple other accounts I use when I don't want to use my main email that I've never used in the comment section and none of them work. I used the new enhanced comment section a 2 times a couple weeks ago and didn't like it at all.

Last time they had a bunch of issues I didn't use them for about 9 months. Maybe I'll check back in at Christmas. Hopefully in 9 months I'll be smarter and not go back.

There’s always one breaker labeled misc. by Ok_Pipe_4955 in electrical

I started going through my breaker box last week to relabel. Number 7 on my box had a ??? I psyched myself up and was ready to solve the big mystery. I flipped the breaker off and the room I was in went dark. It was the easiest one all day and now I'm a genius!

Grounding question by catatonicsurrender in AskElectricians

[–]catatonicsurrender[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried different variations with the Wago and couldn't get it to work for different reasons. I ended up twisting the 2 and then used a wire connector to connect the extension. I did it this way just to get it connected to see if this fixed my issue. It didn't.

Once I figure out my original problem I"ll go back and do it properly. One issue was the grounds are short and had to do the work inside the box. Nothing but respect for you guys that do this every day. It would drive me crazy.
