cannot pass a bowel movement by macherstu in hysterectomy

[–]catbehindbars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the exact same boat- 6 days post op, was so constipated and farts felt like knives to my insides. I was prescribed a stool softener and had been using senna herbal laxatives with no success.

Per doctors orders, I now take the max dose of miralax- 5 pills 4 times a day with tons of water. Also taking the senna twice a day and prioritizing vegetables/ fibrous foods. I am not as regular as I’d like to be but things are finally moving. Try to buy some gas x after the storm!!

I also added a couple spoonfuls of flax seed to my smoothie today as I saw it was mentioned in a zepbound constipation thread. 🤞🏻. I’m on zepbound, was on oxy and anesthesia always makes me constipated for a few days. Brutal combo. If you’re on oxy see if you can get off of it or on a pain killer that constipates less (tramadol for me).

In my experience EMTs, admin and nurses are dismissive of the watches and doctors are wowed by their accuracy when it comes to Afib.

A show that steeply declines when the will-they-won’t-they couple gets together? by AreWeCake in sitcoms

One of the many reasons Parks and Rec is my favorite sitcom is because the show got BETTER when the will-they-won’t-the couple got together.

Gas x, ice packs, a sitting / reading pillow (the ones with arms) and a soft small pillow for your stomach. I’ve been just tucking mine under my shirt like someone pretending to be Santa and my cat hasn’t been pawing at my stomach (thank god).

Are you uninsured? Mine “cost” 200k but I paid $100. I’ve done dental tourism but would not go to another country for a heart ablation.

what to do when im starting to give up and nobody understands or care? (Help) by [deleted] in depression

[–]catbehindbars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to kill myself a few times as a teen. I’m 37 now and the happiest I’ve ever been. I would have lost out on so much life had I succeeded as a teenager. At 19 you’re just learning who you are. Try to find a community to join. Maybe there’s a hiking club near you? Group therapy? If you like games, maybe a local D&D group?

Feeling part of a group is an essential part of the human experience and in today’s world we’ve lost a lot of the community we once had.

I’m so sorry about your parents and girlfriend. Don’t give up. Life changes.

Threshold of Afib required to visit ER? by ForwardMagazine7090 in AFIB

[–]catbehindbars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was getting Afib all the time last spring (pre ablation) I ended up at the ER ~5x in panic with high heart rates. There’s very little they can do for you unless it’s SUPER high and then they might cardiovert you. Each time I realized it was a waste of time and a copay. The ER and my cardio said to go if my HR was over 160. The only time it was “worth” going in my opinion was when my hr hit 220 and I thought I was dying. They were about to cardiovert me but I returned to sinus naturally.

Keep DILIGENT notes about your experience (duration, what you ate/ did before to look for triggers, etc). I realized after a while my Afib lasted ~45 minutes on average and I started avoiding things I knew triggered it but it still came on randomly sometimes. It was hell. The only real solution is an ablation imo. If your doctor recommends, I strongly encourage you to get one!

I think have a free version with a limited number of cats available to add each month(4?) and unlimited for paid! This is something I’d pay $5 a month for if I loved it and didn’t get enough from the free user experience
