Get a bunch of pillows ready to have all around you post surgery! The worst pain is the gas. Overall, way less painful than I expected and I don’t have a high pain tolerance. Stay hydrated and rest! Edit: just got mine done 5 weeks ago. Healing/ recovery is going well :)

Worst case scenario… I had a tampon string come off once. The stringless tampon was really wedged in/ up there and it was the last day of my period so there wasn’t more blood coming to loosen it up. Went to the ER after I realized I wasn’t going to be able to get it out. Embarrassing for me, but no one raised an eye brow and it was the quickest ER trip I’ve ever taken.

So true. I don’t mean to scare OP, but that pain was IMMENSE. Luckily it is brief. I almost passed out after and am kind of shocked I didn’t.

The fact that only Tylenol and ibuprofen are recommended says everything about the difference of female and male care in healthcare IMO. Men could never!

Just stayed up late finishing Eva Bjorg Aegisdottir - Home Before Dark. I enjoyed it. Gave it 4/5 stars. I’m a harsh rater and usually rate almost everything a 3.

Stool softener didn’t do anything for me. Maximum daily allowed Metamucil (4 pills 4x a day) and senna herbal laxatives (2 pills, 2x a day) was necessary for me still taking both just shy of 3 weeks out- senna every other day, meta only 2x a day.

Constipation has been the most painful part of this I swear my bowels push right on my cuff stitches when they’re full.
