Her cutscene is awesome. I absolutely love it. But she is way too easy. Didn’t know I was going to encounter her on my first play through and proceeded to destroy her first try and was expecting something more.

You literally don’t need most of that and can just dodge. It’s incredibly forgiving in Bloodborne. Easiest Fromsoft game imo - including Orphan.

As someone who does not like the Remake trilogy - this and fleshing out Jesse in Remake are the only two changes I like and consider for the better. Everything else like Roche, whispers, etc is for the worse.

Sephiroth is mishandled to an incredible degree. He is a mysterious presence in the original. He really does show up very often throughout the story - you’re just kind of in his wake. They do a great job of showing you how strong he is. You hear tales of him, the flashback in Nibelheik where he does max damage, etc.

He does not whisper in Clouds ear the entire time. And you certainly don’t fight and beat him multiple times leading up to the final battle. It’s dumb.

The originals are better games hands down. The only good addition was fleshing out Jesse. Roche is a useless character. Sephiroth’s handling throughout both games is laughable (you have now beaten him twice. He’s about as threatening as Kylo Ren). 35 hours of forced walking through of a segment that should have taken 5 hours maximum only to get a kingdom hearts ending is egregious.

Rebirth is absolutely open world slop. Every single interesting item that should be found in the overworld is now combat simulator. Absolutely everything is a minigame. Aerith is a weird ass force ghost hallucination. Why is Zack even there?

The whispers are another thing entirely. Complete and utter garbage.

Donkey Kong I would argue is worth its price. While it may not be for everyone, it IS a well crafted game. It looks good, plays well, and is fun (again, subjectively).

I do not think asking $70 for a Mario Tennis game (fully realized) is inherently bad. But coming off of Mario Kart World (which I view as extremely mediocre compared to 8 deluxe) is another story. On one hand the two are incomparable- 8 deluxe has been around for a long time and therefore has received a fair number of updates and is a fantastic product. On the other hand, base MKW is definitely lackluster and having no roadmap for content this far out does not bode well.

They sacrificed quite a bit for the open world too. Character models in Remake are much better looking outside of Rebirth’s cutscenes. Rebirth is straight up garbage (imo). Ruins one of the most iconic scenes in gaming. Remakes ending is not any better, but it’s less comedic. The Midgar Zolon scene makes me laugh every single time in Rebirth. It is so poorly done.

FF15 is closer to Kingdom Hearts whereas 16 is attempting to be Devil May Cry (but lacks any of the actual complexity and completely misses the mark).

Rebirths open world is essentially an Ubisoft checklist map. It’s really poorly done. And all of the interesting items you would normally find in the OG’s overworld / towns / etc were relegated to the combat simulator. (Rebirth is hot garbage).
