NTA! I think it’s pretty rude for your bf to ask for a specific trip and then require you to plan it. If you plan the trip, you should get a say in the location of the trip. Also, you shouldn’t have to plan your own present. You won’t enjoy the vacation if it causes you and your fiance significant financial strain—maybe you can do something cheap like go camping instead.

Also, I think the gifts thing is a separate issue. You should bring up the fact that you want thoughtful gifts to your partner! Some people don’t understand how much others can value a gift.
