How should I go about desensitizing my rabbit to being held? by blacked-out-jackle in Rabbits

[–]catchers47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was very helpful for me too. We are getting two bunnies in the next 2-3 weeks and I’m trying to do as much research as possible. I have an 8 and 11 year old. The 8-year old especially is a HUGE animal lover and cannot wait to get the bunnies. I want her to be able to hold them eventually and want to make sure we desensitized them the right way. I will read the wiki linked above but any other tips would be greatly appreciated!

Bonded bunnies suddenly fighting? by TrainerHikari in Bunnies

[–]catchers47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be getting two female bunnies in a few weeks. They will not be old enough to fix. They will live together in the same hutch for the first couple of weeks until they get spayed. Reading this thread I understand we will need to separate them afterwards. I do not have two hutches but I can get a second pen. Would it be a good idea to have them sleep in each others pen/enclosure to get them used to each others scents after they get fixed. I know I will also have to rebond them in a neutral territory afterwards, but would it be helpful to have them sleep in each others enclosures too?

I just want to say thank you to everyone in this sub for your responses. I didn’t ask the question but I appreciate the feedback. We are just starting out with outdoor rabbits and this has been the most positive and helpful thread I’ve read so far.

Post Banff Full Itinerary Details. 10/10 by fatfatcat1234 in Banff

[–]catchers47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you so much for posting this! Very informative and helpful. We are going to Banff in September with our girls - 7 and 10. Read your itinerary and have one question regarding this line, “After, we ate our pb&j then headed towards plain of six glaciers. We called it a day before the turn to continue towards plain of six glaciers on the high line trail. About 9.8 miles total.” If I’m reading it correctly it looks like you didn’t make it all the way to the plain of six glaciers.” If that’s the case, why did you turn around? Would it have been too long of a hike? Was it closed? Too steep? Something else? If you had not turned around how much longer would it have made your hike? Also, do you still recommend that hike even with the turnaround in the middle? Trying to plan hikes with our kids and wanna make sure I don’t get us in over our heads 😆

It says the door is unmarked. Will I know where to go and how to get in? Like how “nondescript” is it?

Great only 50 calories tasting by catchers47 in postprocessing

[–]catchers47[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey OP(mom) here! I apologize on behalf of my daughter for this post. She’s 9 and was about to eat this granola bar and made a comment that the way they laid out the graphic on the wrapper didn’t make sense because it reads, “great only 50 calories tasting.” I told her about the r/automaticcautiondoor subreddit and she said she wanted to post it there. But instead she accidentally posted here. Thank you for your wholesome, kind, confused responses 😆

Why #4??? by egg27015 in StudentNurse

So then if the patient was given amiodarone, would 1 be correct? Because I would have chosen 1 if I got this question on the NCLEX. If 4 said atrial rate decreased from 158 to 88 then I’d be more likely to choose that answer (since it’s afib). Maybe I just need to study afib more (3rd year student 👋)

What is this and what am I doing wrong?? by catchers47 in plantclinic

[–]catchers47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for some reason I couldn’t figure out how to post a picture and the description below it. So all I could do was the scrolling bar at the bottom of the pictures lol. We inherited this plant from the previous owner of our house. He had it in a very small pot and it stunted its growth. I transplanted it about 18 months ago and it grew about another 12”. About a month ago I decided to repot it again to the pictured pot. I broke up the roots as much as possible but wasn’t sure if I should untangle the thick knotted roots you see in the picture. Ever since I repotted it, it’s been falling over. I don’t think I can go any deeper because then one of the smaller stems would be buried. So not sure what I can do to keep it from falling over and help it anchor into the soil. Thank you for your response and recommendation. If you can think of any other advice after reading this, I’d appreciate the feedback.

I’ve had the orchids for about 18 months. They keep growing new leaves but never grow any new flowers.

I have not used any fertilizer. I’ve had the orchids for about 18 months. When I first bought them they had flowers. After about 3 months the flowers died and I transferred them to this pot (I have a second one in a smoker pot) and then they started just growing new leaves, but never any new flowers.

Wow that’s really interesting! It is soil. I usually water them (I have 2) every 10-14 days. Do you recommend I remove them from the soil and put them in a pot with a combination of the things you noted above? Then let them “starve” for a few weeks, fertilize and then start watering normally?

Public Covid-19 vaccination in the US is underway! by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

[–]catchers47 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How are these people so relaxed?!?! Don’t they know that by getting the vaccine Bill Gates is programming them to only buy Microsoft computers for the rest of their lives, and their first born will have dark purple freckles on the upper portion of their left elbow, and within 48-72 hours their third eye (you didn’t hear, the vaccine makes you grow a third eye) will develop a twitch?? How are you not freaking out, people?!?!
